another pdl email

I have been emailing back & forth with westbury & my latest email informed me that it doesn't matter what state I live in. Heres the email.

WE DON’T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOUR STATE OK WE HAVE LAWS AS WELL OK THIS IS A INTERNET LOAN NOT WERE YOU LIVE THAT ‘S FOR YOU GUYS WERE YOU ARE READ THE CONTRACT BEFORE YOU MAKE THESE KIND OF STATEMENTS OK. PAY US BACK QUICKLY OR THIS WILL BE FORWARDED SO THIS IS UP TO YOU.

Thank you,

So is what she is saying true. She said that I should have erad the contract but there was no contract, just over the phone.

This is the email they sent you? Oh my gosh! I have NEVER seen anything like that! This was a "verbal contract"? You didn't do the loan over the internet? And what state are they claiming to be in? Did you look at your state pdl laws? Who is the pdl? Is Westbury just "collecting" for them? I can not believe they sent this email to you. Be sure to save it/print it/whatever. Keep all documentation.

Isn't The Loan Shop one of the pdl's that isn't even licensed to do business???

I would respond saying you would love to read the contract, except that it was over the phone!

Also, they are wrong. In most states the pdl's have to follow the state the consumer is in. This company is just messing with you.

PAY US BACK QUICKLY OR THIS WILL BE FORWARDED

Oh no! They may forward an email if you don't pay up! I'd be scared . . . . .

No, they are not licensed. They are idiots. They can't even punctuate. Write her back and tell her that you are FORWARDING all their correspondance to the state of Alabama's attorney general, as well as the FTC and the BBB. And DO IT!!!! Have fun with them. Every time they send something like this, just let them know you are forwarding everything. Do not be afraid!!!!! Wow this company is really on a roll today. File those complaints right away. Once they hear from the AG or BBB, they will back down.

You can go to the BBB at www.bbb.org. You can file your complaint on line. It's very easy. And the FTC is www.ftc.gov. That one is also on line and easy to fill out. When you go to the FTC site, look for "consumer protection", click on that, and then there will be a link for "complaints". Be sure and file with them, please. They are interested in these pdl companies. Keep us posted!
