Closing my accounts at my bank...

Hi guys,

Well, after much thought, I have decided to close all my accounts at Washington Mutual, the bank I have been with for quite some time now. I had opened a new checking account with them, but I just don't feel it's safe. I can't trust that these scummy companies won't get hold of my new account information. So, off to other banks I go. Besides, Washington Mutual used to be a good bank, but they have changed lately. Now, when you call their CS number, you get connected to someone in the India or wherever. That turns me off. It wasn't like that when I first opened my account with them.

I have opened new accounts at some other banks. My direct deposit is scheduled to go into my new account on my next paydate.

There's no way they can get my new info at a completely different bank, can they?

I did the same thing with washington mutual
I was with them a long time, closed one account and opened another. I did not feel safe and went else where. I dont feel safe mentioning my new banks on this site. You never know who may pop in
Anyway, you are probably safe. DONT EVER GIVE YOUR NEW # OUT

jen, your accounts should be safe from the pdl's. However, as stated in an above post, do not apply for any other pdl's. They might have a "sister company" and get your new account information. Just don't apply for anymore pdl's (which I know you won't!). And it is safer going to a completely different bank just to be on the safe side.

LOL! jen, you crack me up! You're not dumb. Please don't say that. That means we all are! LOL! It's amazing what a hard lesson we had to learn to know to keep our personal information confidential!

Jen - I edited your post for you.

Yeah, I know that now I'm so careful about who I give my bank info to. I won't even write a check to a business. The only people I write checks to are family members . . . . . Aside from my workplace, and my auto insurance, no one else knows my account information.
