Advice on Westbery Ventures

I've been getting emails for Westbery everyday demanding the name of my attorney and my immediate supervisor. I had sent them a letter to remove wage assignments and no communication besides USPS or email. Also reported them to the BBB and AG a little over a week ago(no reponse as of yet!). The orig. loan was for 300 and I've paid 180 so I'm tring to get them to settle for the balance that I legally owe by my state laws. They are not licensed in my state and the law has a intrest cap on non-lic lenders. Should I pay the rest of what I know I legally owe them or wait till they agree on a PIF for this amount? There emails are getting more and more demanding and they will not give me a balance on the loan unless I call them. Has anyone been taken to court by them? Do I need to be concerned about this? I've been in email contact with them everyday and not getting anywhere, they will not provide me a mailing address or balance, and they will not accept my PIF in writing they just keep responding with "send it in!". I'm getting flustrated with this!!! Thanks!

You guys, do not let them scare you. They are just trying to frighten you into paying them. Please make sure you have filed complaints with your state's attorney generals against this illegal company. Tlemley, you have paid them back more than enough. What state are you in? You do not owe them anymore money.

Racer87, I answered your previous thread concering this matter. I am sorry that I have not been able to get to it sooner.

Again, do not be afraid, either one of you. Laugh at their emails. They are full of grammatical errors and such.....shows you what kind of people you are dealing with!

See not all of them are full of misspelling and grammatical errors. That seemed pretty convincing doesn't it? I'd be scared too if it weren't for this website.

But they can't do squat to you, which is why they haven't done anything yet and also why they come off sounding all big and threatening...

Ok just a observation.......... Are all these real people or are a couple people just using multiple names at Westbury Ventures. Most of the names I've come across just seem to basic if you understand what I mean!!
William Smith, Larry Foster, Jamie Bailey, Sarah Mack, Sharron Williams, P Harris, Brad Weathers, Thomas Rothrock, Ron Reynolds.

Which BBB did you file the complaint with? I filed mine with the BBB in Delaware, and a manager of Westbury called me within a week to offer an apology and a PIF letter. I honestly had not even paid the entire debt off--they just offered it based on the terrible treatment I was given. My advice to you is to send them a debt validation letter, certified mail. If you send it to the address in DE, someone will sign for it. Then just start ignoring them. If they won't work with you, don't work with them. They'll go away eventually.

Racer87 and tlemley many people here have dealt with Westbury. You may benefit by reading some of the other threads about Westbury/The Loan Shop. I dealt with them and got threatening letters. The last one I received I responded to. You can check it out here http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/kentucky/criminal-prosecution.html
After my response, I was contacted for a refund settlement the next day based on my filing with the BBB and request for a refund. Don't let them intimidate you. That is their main weapon against you. Once you render that ineffective, they most likely will work with you. Deal with them from a position of strenght. Do not give into them.

I have been dealing with DMSMarketing which is Westbury/Loanshop. It was an on-going e-mail correspondence until I filed a complaint with the BBB in Kansas City,Mo. The BBB got back to me in about a week and DMS agreed to stop all correspondence and send me a PIF letter. I have not received the letter but I have not had any e-mails from the either. So I am satified as of now.

Paul...they are a joke...I got phase 3 then it went on and on...threats that my account was going to be turned over to another department. I was told they would not be so nice..etc. Nothing changed and my account went no where. Just the same e-mails and no matter what I said "told them to take me to court" all kinds of things and I was just ignored. So I pray they will ignore now and forever.
