how to deal with years of accrued debt?
I recently started a new job, after four years of not being able to find steady work. In that time, I have accrued serious debt through credit cards and personal loans, and I would like to start paying them all off on a regular basis. However, in order for me to live at the same time, I need to find a way of consolidating, which is hard to do when I don't own a home. Any suggestions or help getting started would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

HI Justin,
Do you think you will be able to last for long in the present job? Because if you start over consolidating your debts and don't have a regular flow of income afterwards, then it will become very hard for you to make payments. As a result, it will increase your pain. So first and foremost, focus on your job conditions and if you find yourself in a comfortable place, then start over consolidation with your debts. However, you can look into this site as it offers valuable suggestions to the debt struck people.

You definitely seem like a consolidation candidate. First off, I think that your perceptions on consolidation are a little off. If I am not mistaken, you do not need to own a home in order to consolidate. Consolidation services work with your creditors in order to reduce your interest rates. This can help you cut you monthly payments drastically. There are counselors on this site that can help you out.
You should also try to cut your living expenses. Try your best to cut out unnecessary expenses so you can allocate that money towards bill paying. These cost cutting methods would allow you to get the most out of your new paycheck.

It also redefines our way of living this life. Reducing the cost at times certainly makes us a more of well planned and balanced human being. I personally feel sometimes is that what's the use of the luxuries when we can't fulfill our necessities.

Definately talk with a counselor and get it consolidated. Like Roxette said...you have to redefine your way of living...at least until you out of debt and taking in more money then you owe. GOOD LUCK!
