Jenn, you are done with these companies. They need to mark your account paid in full. You also will need to file a complaint with the state's attorney general and they will contact these companies. It is possible the AG may be instrumental in getting them to mark you paid in full.

jenn - file with the BBB, the FTC, and your state AG. The BBB sometimes can resolve the issues for you; however, probably not with the ugly pdl's you have, but file anyway. They need as many complaints as possible. File with the FTC, which is the Federal Trade Commission. The BBB site is www.bbb.org. The FTC site is www.ftc.gov. And to find your state AG, I just googled my state attorney general office and the site popped up. The BBB you can file on line. The FTC you can file on line. I don't know about your state AG. In my state, you have to download the form, fill it out, and mail 2 copies to them. When you go to these sites, they will have "complaint" links. Sometimes it's under "consumer protection". Click on that. The complaint forms will come up. Be sure to file complaints though. Each agency needs to know what's going on. And sometimes the BBB can help, sometimes not. But the FTC pays close attention to these complaints. And the state AG also pays close attention to these complaints. It may take a little bit to hear back from them, so don't get discouraged. You will get a response. It just takes them a little longer because they review each complaint. Any problems filing your complaints, just post and we'll be able to help you!

It is really easy, you can do the whole complaint online-nothing to mail or anything. They were really helpful in getting a couple of my loans marked paid in full. Be patient, they take a week or so to even acknowledge the complaint. Like cannr said, they will respond and I guarantee they will look into each one and do what they can to help you. :)
