In any case I have been toying with calling her back tomorrow...any suggestions/comments??

WOW. I didn't know that GFS responded to complaints!!! I am not sure what you should do about this one because I do not trust these people. Let's see what everyone else recommends.......this is very strange!!!!!
morningstarr
morningstarr, you can listen and read everyones advice and make your own decision. But I'll be damned if I'm not giving you my 2 cents! Do not call the lady back. I actually spoke to the ignorant morons of whom you can not understand and all they will do is tell you to money gram them more money. I swear to you. "Brian" called me. And he also said it was to discuss my "letter of complaint". I was stupid enough to call Brian back. He stuttered and spit through his written transcript in front of him regarding how I'm to abide by THEIR laws and they wanted THEIR money by such and such date and blah blah blah and they would mark it paid. Ummmm..... it was over paid already. I argued with him forever and he just kept repeating the same thing over and over (written script) and then sent me an email stating I was to send them money by money gram on such and such date as soon as I hung up the phone with him. Then when they didn't receive the money gram, my friend, Brian, called me and left a message asking me where HIS money was. Don't even call her. I'm telling you right now - this is exactly what to expect if you do. However, like I said, you make your own decision. But that was my experience with calling them back!

I think based on cannr's experience, there is no way in heii that I would call this lady back. I paid them off way before I ever found this forum so I didn't know I had any rights at all back then.
Dont call them back! They could care less about your complaint!

I agree with everyone else. It's just a tactic to get you on the phone with them so they can harrass you. I have a compnay that gave me a PIF and only wants me to call to discuss a refund (supposedly) but I don't want that 180 badly enough to call them and stir up trouble.

OK...you all have convinced me...and what do I do if they call me at work?? I did send them a cease and desist letter...but you know they won't abide by it. And what about the wage assignment thing, I revoked it but haven't really notified my payroll dept. yet...I really don't want to have to explain this...I am a manager and they will not like this at all!!

Do not speak to those people for any reason! If they need to contact you they can write. It is a new tactic of theirs apparently because their old ones are not working so well anymore, thanks to this forum.

Notify your payroll department right away!!! I had to do it...I was really scared and embarassed but it wasn't bad. I actually sent my payroll administrator an email. I said, "I got a loan from an outfit that I probably shouldn't have and they are loaning illegally and I have already paid them off but they want more money and are threatening wage assignment. I have filed complaints and am compiling information against them for my attorney. I am revoking any voluntary wage assignment I may have signed. Please do not give out any information about me or my wages to anyone without a court order." She was very nice about it and didn't ask me any questions and told me she wouldnt give out any info at all.

ok Thanks!! I have been searching and I can't find where they ever sent through a wage assignment..actually I can't find a thread where any of them have...do you know of any?? Other than a collection agency..I mean one of the ipdls??
morningstarr
morningstarr, you may not have signed a wage assignment with them. I have read posts on here regarding that, so I went through EVERY loan document I had and read EVERY word and found nothing regarding that. However, I included that in my pdl letter I sent out, just to be on the safe side. You know how paranoid I am! But if you don't see anything, then you probably didn't. I swear, I read every word on every loan paper. So I feel confident that I didn't. But.... like I said, I just covered my butt! So, don't worry. If they didn't have it included, then it wasn't included. But - don't talk to these people. Nasty horrible people. They just want to suck you dry some more. Oh. There goes that attitude again!

you know now that I think about it...this GFS loan was done over the phone...and I don't remember them asking anything about wage assignment or anything...I think your right..not going to even think about them...

morningstarr, I had a loan with them under the name of Interim Cash Ltd. and it was done over the phone. I remember them saying something about me agreeing that they could contact my employer to get their money if I didn't pay them but I have not heard of this company actually doing it. I think GFS is a bunch of clowns, myself, but it's better to be safe than sorry!!!!!!!

I, too, have had dealings with GFS. I overpaid my loan way too much just in debited fees every two weeks. When I filed complaints with the AG's office and BBB, I got a response from GFS almost immediately.
Jenny called me within a week and left a voice message stating that my account with GFS was officially closed. I sent an email demanding they put my new "closed" account status in writing and mark the account paid in full. I also requested a refund for the amount I overpaid (which I don't really expect to ever get). I received an email from Jenny stating my account was paid in full (which I promptly forwarded to the AG's office).
GFS was easy to deal with...too easy. I keep expecting something to go terribly wrong.

Thanks Cannr! So far, I have Paid In Full status w/ 3 PDLs - MTE Financial (though I'm sure they own at least one of the other companies I'm dealing with), Payday Avenue and GFS.
*ameriloan and One Click Cash are still trying to get more money although I've already overpaid the existing loans (both responded to the BBB with settlement offers). I'm not giving them another dime.
*Emerald has agreed to stop debiting my account while they conduct a review (supposedly I'll get the results at the end of the week). I'm not giving them another dime either...they owe me nearly $1000.
*Cash Tree hasn't stated what they want yet but told the BBB that they're willing to work with me. Whatever that's worth.
*E-Payday Loans isn't responding at all.
Pulling myself out of this crap has been quite an experience. I only wish I'd learned what I needed to do to get control of my money again much earlier. I am eternally grateful for this online community.

Wow thans for that post...I posted in another topic GFSIL did respond to my AG that they would like to resolve this with me...I emailed them asking in what way?? I haven't heard back as yet and she hasn't called either but I just sent it yesterday. I am encouraged by the fact they gave you a PIF!! Cangrats!!
rain
rain, ameriloan and One Click Cash are MTE Financial. They pulled the same crap with me. To "settle" through the BBB, they wanted more money when I've overpaid them. Hello. No settlement from me. You're doing really, really well! Actually better than most! I think I'm starting to get jealous! LOL!

Yes, take heart Morningstar...it is certainly possible to get a "Paid In Full" from GFSIL. Just keep up the good work.
I'm surprised that things are moving along so quickly Cannr. I didn't take action until Aug 1. Reading all the posts on this site got me fired up and I decided to regain control of my finances. I feel so empowered knowing that they're not getting another cent out of me...and they can't do anything about it. If I get refunds, that will be the cherry on top!

They'll call the crap out of you. You'll get a different person each time. You need to tell them not to contact you at work (they will anyway). You need to tell them not to contact you via telephone at all (they will anyway). Do not take their calls. They'll argue with you, blah, blah. It's not worth your time or effort. Say "Do not call me again." And hang up the telephone. Do it every time. They are totally illegal and have nothing to lose. Let me ask you, you did send them a letter revoking any wage assignment you may have signed with them, right?

guest - since my account has been considered "paid in full" and GFS sent me an email stating so, the only contact is me bugging them for my refund. Of course, I've recieved no response and I know I won't get my money. It still gives me pleasure to annoy them for a change.
