OK-this is weird.....United Cash Loans...

So most of you guys know my situation with these jokers over at MTE. I have 2 loans with both United Cash Loans and OneClickCash (I have others too, but these are the 2 I'm battling first). I sent my revocations and complaints to the NYS Attorney General around Wednesday of last week.

I have received no responses from either company to any of my e-mails. OneClickCash debited their money (as expected on Friday). However, United Cash Loans has not done so....No debits at all. Usually these companies are like clockwork, so I'm curious, do you think it's possible that my state's AG contacted them already? What could possibly explain this? (I haven't closed my account or blocked anything yet).

jen, holy smokes! United didn't put their debit through? I almost fell over! However, I wouldn't trust anything. They can come along any day and debit the full amount they think you owe them. I don't know about anyone else, but my experience with any of the MTE Financial pdl's has been that they debit right up until they can't debit any more. Like I said, don't get all excited yet. They could sneak up any time and debit since you're account is still accessible to them. I don't trust them as far as I can throw them.

I would actually say that maybe someone "honored" your revoke letter; however, I'm not going to say that in this case. These are both MTE Financial pdl's. And they debited the one. So, now I'm wondering what's up with the other one. They are very consistant with my 3 pdl's. MTE does the same thing for every one of them. They don't vary at all. Something is strange here. It almost makes you want to contact them - but then again - maybe not! LOL! Are you going to have a block put on your account?

Cannr-yes definitley. Probably going to the bank during my lunch hour today.

This situation is very bizarre to say the least. I would be SHOCKED if they honored my revoke letter, can't see that happening unless of course, my AG contacted them. (But I doubt it because it's been too short of a time period).

My feeling is that if your AG contacted them, they wouldn't have debited the other one. If they didn't debit either one, I would be inclined to say "something worked"! But it's too weird for me. Yes. Go to your bank at lunch. Get that block on your account or close it or freeze it or whatever you're going to do. I'm afraid they're going to sneak up and debit the full amount right out from under you.

Defiantly watch your account. When I blocked the debit for United Cash Loans, they tried to make a paper check and send it through with some crap about not needing a signature. But since the account was closed it didn't go through. I thought that was really strange. Just make sure you keep a close eye on your account.

I, too, have had the old "paper check" (electronic check) sent through also. And it's a pain in the butt to get reversed. So, don't be surprised if they try that trick. I believe though, that a HARD DEBIT BLOCK prevents these from going through also. Nothing will go through mine. Credits only. So if your bank gives you crap about closing your account - put a hard debit block on it. Be sure to ask them if a debit comes through - will it "force" your account to re-open if you close it? That's an ugly mess all in its own. So, if they say yes to that, put a hard debit block on it, verify that it is on there (I called my customer service # of the bank to verify that it had been done!) and have you already opened a new account??

Ok guys, so today I get home from work and there is a letter from my state's Attorney General regarding UCL. They are asking me for additional information, such as signed agreement, copies of payment info (cancelled checks, etc)....I can't believe how fast they got back to me!! I wonder if they have contacted UCL already and that is why they haven't debited my account....Time will tell!

jen, that's great! Your AG is on it! Send them all the info! Maybe they did contact the companies and at least United backed off. Can't say much for the other. LOL! So maybe you were right. I'm just glad for you. At least now the AG is on to these people and working on doing something about it! Now if they would move on to the other one that's still debiting!

Wow, I am keeping my fingers crossed Jen! I hope that maybe they really did get ahold of UCL and that's why UCL didn't debit your account! They never even answered my state's AG and as far as I know they are STILL trying to debit my account that has been closed since March as they told me that is "normal collection procedures."

I agree with everyone about watching your account. United sent a paper check thru on us after us not hearing from them for a while and unfortunately our bank was not able to reverse it since it was paper, or so they told us anyway. Even after we told them that we did not approve this transaction, etc. United is very sneaky. I never heard a word from them and then all of the sudden they got us.

jen, I'm assuming 2ndband's account just had a ACH block on it and was not closed. If you have an ACH block on it, paper checks will go through. And pdl's are good at doing that. If their ACH debits won't go through, they'll send an electronic check through. If your account is CLOSED, then the electronic check will not go through. It will be rejected, as the account is closed. That's why I suggest to everyone, if you can't actually CLOSE the account, then put a HARD DEBIT BLOCK on it. Nothing will go through. ACH debits, paper checks, electronic checks, even your stuff like your ATM card. It blocks it all. Sometimes you can't close your account entirely. So my suggestion is to put that HARD DEBIT BLOCK on it. It rejects anything coming through. Is your account closed? And did you ask that if a debit was to come through - will it "force" your account open? Happened to me. Ugly.
