Really feeling down.........HELP!

It's been a really bad day. Still searching for a bank. Nothing is close to me that doesn't either use Chex or do a credit check, neither of which I can pass at all. This past week was the first sample we had of NOT having a bank account and it really sucked bad. The only plus was that we had our checks for once.
If anyone can do a search for a bank with no chexsystems verification in my area or credit check, I am located around Winchester, Decherd or Tullahoma, TN. I appreciate any help with this. I think I have called all there are left to call. LOL!!!! Not sure if I've missed something or not. I'm am physically and mentally EXHAUSTED and don't know where to turn at this point. I may not have a choice but to do that online bank thingy.

I wish I could offer some advice but I don't know anything more about checking accounts than you have already encountered. I did just want to tell you to hang tough - I'm sure someone will come along with a solution for you - Until then even though it may not feel like it - just know you aren't alone and we are all pulling for you.

bflow, I saw a post joshua put on here at one time trying to find that one internet banking account info. Maybe he can help regarding that. If you have to go the internet banking route, then so be it. There are guys where I work that have on-line accounts. They get ATM cards and checks. All the normal stuff. They just don't have a physical bank to go to. They don't seem to have any problems with it. I don't remember the names of the banks. I could try to look them up at work and see if I can find out name info. for you. But maybe joshua can answer you regarding it. Whichever, I'm going to look anyway. I'll try to find a name. Don't dispair. There's a bank somewhere. Lord, there has to be. Take a breather & try to rest some. We'll see if someone else can post some info. on banks or maybe joshua will come along and read. But meanwhile I'll try to get the name of the internet banks the guys at work use. Don't dispair, bflow. We're here for you.

Yep, you are right. We are on our way to recovering from past due bills, cancelled car insurance, hell, you name it we've had it done since the PDL nightmare began. But, we are climbing our way out. It is a slow process. When you get so far behind, it's not soooo easy to get caught up is it?

You go, joshua! :D We can always count on you! I'm hoping bflow can do this on-line thing. Apparently they don't do checks of past bank accounts? Hell, I might look into something like that myself if my bank "turns on me"! LOL! Thanks, joshua! I hate to always throw your name out - but you usually end up helping! :D

We have a regular checking acct but do all of our bill paying electronically... this seems to be the same thing!! And we pay about the same per month to be able to use electronic banking! I find it easier and so much less of a hassle than sitting down and writing bills out! Also, it is a LOT easier digging urself into the hole than pulling urself up out of it but it IS possible! Keep fighting!
Check it out bf, ul probably like it!

Thanks, cannr! I try my best. You sure cheered me up with your kind words! I was having a hellish day today! argh..just really stressed out about pulling myself out of the hole myself now. I might have to find a part-time job for a little while myself to catch up. It does seem to take a while to get out, but I cannot get another pdl to make things better (that is my Mid-year's Day resolution!)

We don't have an account with a bank either. We cash our checks at the Local Winco grocery store when our checks are $1000 below. When we get paid and it is over $1000 we go to a check cashing place-you know the ones that also give cash advances(I thought that was all they did) but found out they cash checks also with 2 forms of ID and good contact number. The fees range from $2.00 to $26.00 depending on how much you get paid. Or, just go to the bank that the check is written out from-that is if there is one in your area. Hope this helps out. Also, some of the cash advance places gives you free money orders for your bills. They also have the prepaid Credit Cards available. Hope this helps out some.

Thanks Leandram21! I appreciate the information. This past week was my first experience with no bank account and I had to get a money order for rent. No big deal, right, well, I get off too late to go to the bank or post office, Kroger customer service isn't open until 8am (I have to be to work at 7:30), three little stores in my town that I stopped at looked at me like I was a frickin idiot when I asked if they sold money orders and finally I found a store. OMG>>>> it was hell! But, now I know where I can get them, so, next time won't be as crazy!!! I really need a bank account with a debit card...I have a trip to Florida to acquire my youngest son from my parents and in order to do that I need to rent a car back. I am shuttling my oldest sons little car down but need to rent a car back, LOL! No credit card makes that very difficult!

bflow - do you have a US Bank near you? I remember seeing an add about them they they do not care about Chex. It's a second chance account, they call it.

I know there was a thread around here that pointed out the banks that use and don't use Chex. US Bank came off my head, but there are others.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR ALL THE HELP WITH THIS. I did it. I drove the 60 miles today to make the opening deposit at Wachovia. I now have a checking account.....YAHOO!!!! Checks and check card have been ordered, so we are on our way....
Question though, until my husband can come in himself they won't add him to the account. Any idea if it will matter if the account is only in my name for direct deposit?
