A lot of people here used T&C, I've heard a lot of good about them. I know they don't have a website, though. For me, it wasn't in my best interest to use a consolidation company. I had internet loans, but very little other debt. Through a lot of help from people on this board, I was able to squash the PDLS myself. The first thing you need to do, whether you go with T&C or not, is come up with a list of your loans, what you've paid, and how much the original loan was for.
Before you close your bank account..What state are you in? Also, are they all internet loans?

wel i would love to pay them off myself if i could but i am caught in only being able to afford to pay the interest on some of them only with maybe a 50 dollars extra..but then i have little to no paycheck..which caused me to borrow again.. i can certainly make a list of everything and by the way i reside in pennsylvania..and i have 10 pdls in all..can you believe it?..i'm still trying to figure out how in the world i got into this so quickly...anyway..6 of them are internet loans..most of them now are in th epay down stage but it's still enough to sink my bank account..here i was trying to keep improving my credit by paying on time and now i took a sharp turn south!..please help...smile

Hello! Since you live in PA I'm going to assume these are all internet loans . . . . In PA they have a "loophole" in their laws that allows pdl's to lend over the internet to PA consumers if they are licensed in another state, and they are allowed to follow the laws of that state.

Can you list out each company you borrowed from? How much? And how much have you paid back in fees so far?

Please read the following thread:

http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/close-account.html

What happens after you close your bank account is you would work to settle these loans with the pdl companies. But you have to stop them access to your bank account first, or else they will be very unwilling to deal with you at all. If you do decide to go with T&C, they will also tell you to close your bank account.

Wait - Am i reading right that only 6 of your loans are internet??? Who are the other 4 with? Are you sure they are payday loans? In PA, it's illegal for a payday loan to be physically located there, and for it to be a storefront they would have to be located there . . . .

hello..and thanks for the feedback...i am getting mixed information about what PA will and wn't allow as far as PDLS...i do thank you all for yuor help...i called T&C and just received my application..but i wasn't told anything about closing my bank account...according to one source on i shouldn't close my account because i could possibly face criminal charges..is this true?..i will call T&C back and find out more information concerning this matter..but in the meantime..please continue to educate me on these issues as i don't want to make any more costly mistakes...i felt a great burden lift just by calling T&C ..so i hope they can help because if they work with you the way they say..i'll be on my way out of this mess..i thank you a million times over for this community and all your help..i thought my life was over!!

The information I have says that PA doesn't allow storefronts, or businesses located in PA to give payday loans, but PA consumers are allowed to take loans out over the internet all they want.

In somes states you could face charges for closing the bank account, but I don't know if that applies to PA or not. That usually applies to actual checks, so if the loans were over the internet you wouldnt' have much of a worry.

Can you list the companies you borrowed from? How much you borrowed from each? And how much you've paid back so far in fees?

i do apologize for not getting back to you about how much i have borrowed and how much i paid in fees..i have close to $5,000 in pdls and i would say that i've put up about $3,000 in fees combined if not more...i really never sat down and figured it out..i was just trying to keep my head above water each pay check by working alot of OT to cover everything...in anycase i am on board with T&C as this was the best option for me at this time...but i want to thank each and everyone of you for educating me about pdls and my credit information..i was truly in the dark...my credit is jacked up now because of some foolish decisions but now that i have this new information no one will ever lead me down the wrong path again...and i can begin to improve my credit and hopefully see some results in the next year or so...thanks guys!!..i will still continue to seek information from this post and will take what i have learned to educate my family and friends...
