Weird....or not?

Well, I have heard that some payday loans places never put in writing that they have considered you PIF after you send them the letter stating your state laws, BUT they mark you PIF and just leave you out of the loop. Weird, yes... unheard of practice on pdl's part, not really. It sounds like they marked you PIF, just without officially stating it with written documentation. Just my two cents.

I figured they were just trying to sucker me into giving them my new account info for this "so called" new loan.

I was looking at some other stuff on these forums about Sonic and was on their site looking at my contract. I have had this loan for forever...probably 2 or 3 years. Am I mistaken or did they get in trouble in Malta and operate somewhere else now? Just thought it was wierd that mine still has that info on it if this is the case.

I am not sure if they still operate in Malta. The last I read on these forums it sounded like they still did, though. I don't have any first-hand experience with Sonic myself, but I've dealt with other pdl companies.

The letter they sent my AG in June marking my account PIF stated that their address was still in Malta. They have a call center in Canada-Winnipeg, Manitoba I think. When they used to call me, however, it came up "British Columbia Call" on my caller ID.

They are in malta. The calls come from British Columbia. Whatever.........But they are still "based" in Malta and governed my the "laws of Malta". LOL! :lol:

They are probably trying to get your new banking information, as you said. Do not trust them for a minute! Their peons are in BC (British Columbia), their execs are in Malta, but are their collectors also in BC?

I don't think those PDL's are connected. Sonic, Northway Debit, Payday Avenue and Cash Transfer Centers are all one and the same. I don't think that Mycash Now is also under that umbrella, but I could be wrong.

I have never heard they were connected either...I just thought because of the location connection...

It possibly could be because British Columbia/Malta could be a hub for offshore PDL's? Kind of like how Delaware and Florida are PDL hubs in the USA? It's interesting to see how all of the pieces fit together in this offshore puzzle.

and don't forget Oklahoma and Nevada...do you ever feel like we are in "the twilight zone" and we are going to find out there is one big bad guy that runs the whole show world wide???LOL...kind of like the Wizard of Oz in reverse...LOL...I think I need a nap...

And speaking of Oz, let's not forget the bustling town of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, home to Geneva-Roth Ventures and other fly-by-night PDL places! Oh great and glorious Oz, lol.....It seems like all of these places just cluster together? Just an observation.

Regarding the whole Malta/British Columbia idiots. I do believe their collection calls come from British Columbia. However, they will continue to state that the laws of your contract are governed by Malta. Oh. Okay. Let me get right on abiding by your Malta laws and send you $3,000 because you let me borrow $200. Give me a break!

So does anyone have a good fax number for Sonic? I need to get this revocation letter to them...and no physical adress I have sent it to has worked.
