Help for PDLs in Oregon
I'm wondering what company to talk to, because the last one I talked to told me they couldn't help me with Cash Call. But people here have said they'll help with other payday loans. And I just recieved another call where I was told, they don't work with payday loans and especially not cash call.
I've looked at doing it myself, but I can't do anything with my bank, as I'm overdrawn. They can't put a stop to the Internet Payday Loans, because they can't charge me the fee if they know I'm over drawn. I just had my dad put in $1000, and when my rent and car payment go through, I'll be back down there again and that doesn't include any of my other bills, most of which are overdue now. I can't put a full stop on my bank because then my car and rent won't go through and I'll be in serious trouble there. As well I wouldn't have access to any money and would be equally as screwed. I can't go to prosper because I already have a loan from them, and my girlfriend can't get one because her credit is too bad. Even some of the newer peer to peer I can't use because they either aren't in my state or I'm not a college student. I can't get a loan from a bank because of my recent bankruptcy and I can't secure it.
Does anyone know of rich caring giving people who loan money if you can't provide me a consolidation company to work with. All I have is the payday loans... I'm getting desparate and don't know what to do anymore....

All the payday loans I had where store front loans. My biggest mistake was going to a check n go. What a bunch of crap. I sent all of their letters from me through the mail cert/rr. Never heard anything, so I sent all copies of that to my AG and they sent a letter asking what they thought of my letters, and I havent heard anything in over a month. Check n go was supposed to let me know what their reply was to the AG and me. Ill wait one more week and send a letter to my AG to see what to do next.

The waiting game is the hardest part. I submitted my complaint form online and heard back rather quickly from the OR Dept of Banking where they take the complaints. He settled it quickly with Geneva Roth and got CashNetUSA to realize their mistake. I think I will call him if CashCall doesn't own up to their mistake in not submitting my deferrment, but not sure what he can do.....
Does not hurt to ask, before they forget what they did.

True. But now I'm on to a new problem.
I just tried to search a new number that popped up on my phone a 360 area code which is Seattle. It might be just my car insurance which is based out of Seattle, or it could be any of the debts I owe, not necesarilly PDLs. They left a very generic message and didn't leave a name or contact number, but the number was on my phone.
My concern is why didn't anything pop up about it. So I kept searching, including a site that I knew people would post the number and others would say it if they knew it. But I can't find that site, which was found in my first attempts at searching who was calling me, and it was usually the only other site that popped up with an answer besides DCC.
So being the scientist that I am, I try some of the other numbers I had searched for and have since added to my phone book, cashcall, cashnet, ameriloan... etc, etc... Nothing. In fact if I do get something it is merely a very long list of numbers with not much else. I'm stumped! Was there some change, have they managed to shut down the power of knowledge on the internet, shutting down websites that give power to the people so scam artists can keep stealing money!?!?
Confused... So very very confused...

Okay found my site. But still got nothing that has popped up about it. I'm about half and half right now, thinking it is some trick some one trying something new to get money out of me. And on the other side, probably just my car insurance. I know it is due soon, but the message made it sound like they were concerned like it was late, but could just be preemtive... Don't know... Just paranoid.... arg!

UPDATE!
I haven't checked on my deferrment from CashCall yet, I know bad me...
I did receive an email from ameriloan (MTE) finally...

So its a little nicer that what I was expecting, that is until I tell them to buzz off, then I will expect something a bit more vicious. Now remember I borrowed 250 from these guys, and have paid 150 (two 75 automatic payments) in illegal fees, leaving me 100 that I should owe them. It does say I have 16 more days though, so I'll wait a bit longer before I call in the big guns...

CashCall Update!
I just spoke with a rep over the phone. She was looking for this months payment. I told her about the unsubmitted deferrment. She didn't seem to care. In fact she informed me that they "did not owe" me a deferrment. Besides, even if I paid up this month, they couldn't submit it because they aren't doing deferrments right now. And I have until the end of the month to get money before my account is sent to whatever for review with a supervisor and blah blah blah.
So I guess it looks like I'll be waiting until they sell my account or I get sued.

I'm just scared that I won't get sold. The rep said something about 'since it was a new account' it seemed like they were going to be aggressive about it because it is a lot of money.
But if they don't sell me right away, and I'm only in 'in-house' collections do you think they'd work with me a little better if I can start paying them by November? Especially if they don't plan on selling it....

Since it's in the first stages, I can't say for sure . . . . I know the batch of accounts they just sold off were at least 2 months past due, but it's hard to predict what they will do with the defualted accounts now. They could try to collect on them to get more money, or just sell them off to get what they can . . . . .

I was thinking about sending them a certified letter, explaining that they were not going to get any more money from me until November, deferment or no. And reminding them of my situation. And telling them that I do think they owe me a deferment anyway, and tell them that I know of their financial situation and can see why they'd "forget" to submit it.
It seems like a good idea, it will either make them wait until november and leave me alone, or they will get in gear and either sell me or sue me. We'll see

Thanks,
I've certainly been getting plenty of calls from them. So sending them something to tell them to at least not call me at work, and no need to contact my references because they do have my address and email... I mean that is the original point of references to hunt you down if they can't find you.
Also just got a new Geneva Roth email.

Okay first of all, I've seen this in every email. NO I did not forget the period at the end of the last sentence... They did they always do.
And secondly, what does "need your intentions" mean. I've already told them my intention was to pay them back when I had the means to do so.
Oh and there is a third as well. I actually haven't heard from them. If they've called they've been calling on phone numbers that I haven't found who they belong to or under 'no name'. And they haven't been leaving messages. And they haven't called my work any more either. So that is nice. I guess I can't complain about that.
I'm going to email them back (again!) with the same information, letting them know what my intensions are......

Okay quick question. In terms of sending letters, I remember reading some where on here, on someone's thread a response stating to NOT sign the letter.
I don't remember what that was referring to specifically. But I figured it had to do with some situation where a signature can then be used against you (I assumed a forged document type situation). So do I sign my letter or no?

Cash Call won't stop calling it is annoying. They called my cell phone, not leaving a message this time (most of the time they do), and then shortly after called my work phone. I couldn't let it ring, so I picked it up and put it right back down. No one calls me at work, not even other professionals because the only people who'd want to talk to me work in the building and they usually just walk over to my office.
I just received another phone call at work. This time I answered. It was Prosper, looking for a payment. I told them not until November. The lady pretty much said Okay but we'll keep calling until we get something. And they'll keep calling work too....
I hate phones!
But at least she wasn't that rude. Just said that the group is upset that I'm behind. I should have mentioned that I had emailed the group leader about my situation as well as responded to anyone else who has sent me a message.
I'm tired and stressed again. I go through these up and down periods, it is good for a while when I've got some stuff paid up and am not receiving calls, but then it starts up all over again. When is it ever going to end?

My cell phone got washed... I guess at least it is clean now. But I can check my messages, and I can receive calls, but it is stuck on silent mode and I won't know someone called unless I'm looking at it or until it makes that little noise when someone hangs up.
Cash Call is continually calling. I haven't sent out the letter yet, I hope I have enough money to. I actually am not working all friggen day and can make it to the post office in time. I did receive an email from them as well... They are tricky in their email, it is like the usual but not quite... custserv(at)cashcall.com
So if anyone wishes to contact them via email now you know it (since they don't have it listed on their webpage)....

Looks like now I'll have some one to 'assit' me... Probably much like they did before. Must be what Renee was, they are the nicer ones that when you talk to them you are so glad to hear a friendly voice that you are most willing to send the money yourself.
I think I'll send a copy of my letter to the email as well as mail it. And ameriloan sent me a new letter, looks like I'll have to respond back to this one since my 'offer' is up soon. But I'm not going to pay 355 instead of 100! Especially since I don't have that right now. I would consider it though if I did have it, just to get them off my back! Evil weasels!

I was thinking I'd use Cannr's suggestion on one of the other threads. I'll email them and ask what their name and license number is. Then I'll think about sending them money.
I'm afraid of sending a revoke of wage assignment letter, as in Cannr's situation it seemed to inspire them to send one. I don't want to give them the idea, if they weren't to that stage yet. But then again I would like to have a letter in case they do send one through. Not that it would probably matter. I'd end up like many others with my wages garnished.

I never sent out any revoking mine . . . . And I had a loan with ameriloan. But I had also switched employers so they didn't know where I worked. If they were to try to put one through, you could have your employer talk to Mike at the Dept of Banking. He will tell your employer that it is illegal. He can also tell them that it is a violation of the OR labor laws, and if the employer goes through with it, they will have to pay you back and face a fine.
reply
poko, do not become "lazy"! No, no, no! ameriloan (aka MTE Financial) will be a bitch; however, they will not call you and harrass you. They prefer to harrass via email, which is good. Always send them email responses. They are tough because they are so slick and illegal. You need to NOT take their "settlement" offer. It's outrageous. You only owe the principle amount, and they are damn lucky to get that much. You email them regarding their "offer" and tell them "no way". Actually, I shouldn't tell you what to do.. Sorry. But, if you don't want to pay the "offer", tell them no. Tell them you are only willing to pay the principle amount to have it pif. They will refuse you. I'll tell you that right now. If they do send you to "collections", it's usually not an "outside" collection agency. It's "in-house". It's still them, so don't let that scare you. Remind them that they are not licensed/legal anywhere in the United States. Tell them you will not continue to negotiate until they can provide you with the name and license number they are operating legally under. Shuts them up for a bit. However, watch them. They are slick. But, please try not to settle for over $300 when you only owe a little over $100. They can stick it if they want to play hard ball that bad. And, in regards to revoking wage assignment - by God - send the letter revoking wage assignment! Do it anyway. So I got hit with it even though I revoked it. Hell, I also revoked everyone's debit authorization and they still continued to hit my account! Cover your ass. You need documentation. You need to revoke everything you can, including wage assignment. And goudah posted regarding wage assignment for you. Revoke it. Send the letter. It won't entice them into sending you one. You need to cover your ass. Have that letter revoking EVERYTHING and keep copies. If you so happen to be unfortunate and do get a wage assignment, remember they are VOLUNTARY. Just do it for documentation purposes only. Document, revoke, do it all. Please do this. If anything comes back on you, you will have documentation. Nothing like sitting there and not having anything to "back you up".
Can you revoke over email? Or is it best to just do both.....
Can you revoke over email? Or is it best to just do both.....

Okay so I'm working on my letter and I'm going to remind them that I sent a letter revoking ach debits. Looks like Authorized Payday is the only one who's listened. I sent out the letters on or shortly after July 11, and Authorized Payday's last debit attempt was for $90 on July 19th.
ameriloan kept trying until July 30th, but since then I haven't gotten a paper check submitted by them or anything. Their MTE counterpart United Cash Loans though is trying a different method. They tried a couple of times in July as well but since then every month they've submitted a paper check for $480 to no avail.
So in my letter to United Cash Loans, I'm going to remind them they can't take money out. Ameriloan I am going to let them know I appreciate them finally following the letter, but their settlement is unacceptable. And Authorized Payday, I'm not sure about that one.... All of them are going to get an extra copy of the first letter I sent as well....
reply
The MTE ones are sneaky. So, they're already pulling the "paper check" with you on one. The other - that you believe they are abiding by your request to not debit - do not let your guard down. 4 months went by & an electronic check was issued by them on my account. Never put anything past them. Keep your eye on everything.

I know very little about authorized payday and so does everyone else it seems. I figured that none of them would stop completely but for now they haven't tried anything.
They started using the paper check almost immediately. I am surprised that ameriloan hasn't tried more, but I won't be surprised if they try again after they get their 'bite me' email.

Please do not fax from work unless you know how to delete your fax number from your faxes. I did...Big mistake. And yes, I have received faxes from them. I realized 1/2 way trough my faxing that my fax number was going out with the fax. It was part of the header and would come up on caller id. I went into the menu and deleted the option to send the fax number with the fax and faxed the rest. I did not think about it until I started getting faxes...which was really bad because it is a shared fax. :?

Good idea, that is what I suspected, so good thing my vacation is coming up next week (that means you probably won't see hide nor hair of me either) and I'll be in bigger towns that have such things....
In this town there is only one, at the craft/art/scrapbook store, and since everyone knows everyone and can get a glimpse, and can gossip and what not..... It is safer to bring it to a Kinkos....

Vacation...
Not so great.
Just heard that B's job does not start on Monday, instead it has been delayed to December. Oh crap, we're screwed. We spent too much money on this vacation to have her not be at work and gaining a paycheck.
So we have to head home and she'll look for a job in a town that had zero jobs in the first place and starting in October the mill will be finalizing its shut down process. So what jobs there are have been snatched up by out of job mill workers.... Those that were able to stay in town that is.
I've got all the PDLs wanting their money finally and CashNetUSA is supposed to be getting their 110 on Monday and I haven't even made it to a Post Office to send off those letters.
And I'm just going to have to get rid of my phone because there is no reason to renew a contract if I have no money, so B and I are just going to have to share a phone. And the creditors calling... Well I'm not sure about those. I haven't checked my messages all week because I forgot to charge my broken phone.
Life is a mess right now and I don't know what to do...
