Well, I defaulted with CTC 2 weeks ago and they have been calling about once a day. They finally got my work phone and left a message there yesterday. I called back and left her a firm message stating that my employer does not allow personal calls - which is true. If they call again I will report them to the FTC. I sent them a $15 money order to the Oaks, PA address that I got from this forum. I sent it certified/return receipt. I also faxed a letter to the attn of Kimberly DeThomas president, same as the one I mailed, indicating that I am revoking voluntary wage assignments.

I have also contacted the WI DFI about this company via e-mail. All this hassle over $381. Crazy isn't it!

Anyone else have any advice on CTC or recent stories they can share with me?

Yes, it is crazy, but it looks like you have done everything correctly. Did you also give your employer a copy of the wage revokation letter? If not you should do so, give it to your payroll department. I can tell you that CTC will still attempt wage assignment even after receiving the revokation.

I dealt with them.....they did not waste much time in contacting my employer about the wage assignment....I'd say within a week or two of my defaulting. Once they see that they can't get the money from your employer, they will probably email you a settlement offer, but they still charge a ton for it and they want it all RIGHT NOW. The only thing that worked for me was complaining to my state's attorney general. That took about 2 months for them to reply to but they finally sent my AG a paid in full letter for me.

How much is the loan principal? And how much you have paid so far? Read the latest posts on this company. They are one of a jerk you are dealing with. Be careful. They run an illegal business all over the country.

Now I just spoke with a supervisor named Richard. He said if I do not pay by tomorrow that they will contact my employer. I have already e-mailed the payroll dept at work. When I took out the loan I listed an 800 verification number as my work phone. Tehy must have called it and paid the frr of $15 to get my work info because they called me at work. I just hope they send the letter to the corp office where payroll is done and not to my actual place of work.

This is so awful, I am in tears as I type this. This is a persoanl matter and I am afraid my boss and payroll person on site will find out. How embarrassing. There must be a way to stop these awful people. I have an attorney who is handling my debt repayment program for all of my credit cards. Can he help me on this situation too?

Once they were unsuccessful with my wage assignment, they sent me a settlement email offering me to pay a certain amount and call it good. It was still a ridiculous amount for what I had borrowed. They also insisted on continuing to call me on the phone and contacted one of my references. They didn't get anywhere and left me alone after a while. Finally a couple weeks ago they responded to my state's AG with a paid in full letter.

JCornell (And actually my daughter is also a jcornell, lol...), I hope they call your payroll at the corporate site. I also work for a huge company where payroll is in another city and Sonic did this to me--they actually sent them a wage garnishment letter and payroll sent it back!!!! Once that happened I made monthly payments.

Thanks for the encouragement. I just hope they sent it to the correct place, corp office. I just don't want anyone at my location to find out. Debt is a personal matter and is no one eleses business. I hope this company is shut down soon, they are awful. They need to learn how to talk to people and treat them like human beings.

Paydayavenue which is also the same as CTC tried the wage assignment with me also, but I revoked it. They also sent me a settlement through an email, but I ignored it. They sent my account to a collection company named Universal Fidelity and they would send me letters and call, but I referred them to my BK attorney. One thing I noticed about this company is that there phone # is a Columbus, OH #, but I believe the letters they were sending me were from Texas.

I defaulted with them also about a month ago. They call me at work everyday, and I've contacted my HR liason here and told her about them and that I have a wage revocation letter. So far, no one from payroll has told me that they've tried to contact them....I hope that they will contact me if they do. I also work for a very large corporation that has businesses in both the US and Canada. I'm hopeful that I'm not the only one of their many employees that's run into this and that they'll send them the letter back as well. I'm afraid I won't know what happens until I get a paycheck that's a lesser amount that what I'm owed.
