Allied Interstate, INC.

I am being contacted by a collection agency about a debt that I do not owe. What should I do? I do not need credit counseling because my credit is great, I don't understand and have read some disturbing things about Allied Interstate Inc.

It sounds like another company TRYING to get you into debt via scamming. Ignore them, especially if your credit is great. Unfortunately in today's society, great credit is rare, so do your best to protect it! Don't hand out any personal information to companies such as this, or over the internet.

allied interstate is a Minnesota-based collections agency. Ask them what debt they are after, if any, and ask them to validate it via email.

Also, if they are harassing you, keep in mind you can report them to the FTC!

Hi kendell

Accounts in collections are a derogatory remark in your credit file. It will be better for you to contact AI and get information about this account.

Templates of debt validation letters are kept in this forum. Tailor it according to your requirements and send it to the company through certified mail with return receipt requested. The company will provide you the details. Verify the account properly and make payment arrangements with them so that you can improve your credit ratings.

A 'paid collection' account is better than a 'collection' account. Do your correspondence with the company regarding this account and take steps to improve your credit ratings.

Our credit rating is perfect. We verified this just the other day by reviewing our credit reports. No bad debts. Not ever. Not now. But for a week now, AI leaves this message on our machine, ordering us to call them about a debt. That's all they say. We don't want to call, but we want the calls to stop. We don't know their address. Do you? If you would post their mailing address, we'll send them a certified letter ordering them to stop calling, ccing all the authorities you mention. But I don't want to call to ask them their address. Either they're phishing or they've got the wrong people. I don't want to argue with them. I want them to go away!

The link below has the office address of allied interstate. Try to find their actual purpose of calling you. The debt needs to be validated in writing. It is their responsibility to give out the details first. Send a debt validation letter along with a cease and desist letter. After receiving it, all calls must stop until the debt has been put with accurate information. If they continue to call further, it will be a violation of the fdcpa law and you have the legal stand against the CA.

Aye, I requested Validation from them before and all they will ever send is a statement from them. They have never sent validation. Has anyone ever gotten them to send proper validation? They seem to be one of those companies that mass mail people thinking someone might mess up and paid them for no reason.

I, too, have been receiving numerous calls and messages from allied interstate for about a week. The messages are quite vague and mention calling them to resolve a debt issue. As I know I have no outstanding debt (either currently due or past due), I called them back to ask them to stop calling me. I was put on hold for about 10 minutes, and I finally hung up - who has that kind of time to wait for them? The calls, of course, continued and I just called them back again - not from my home phone. They asked for the phone number at which I was receiving the calls. They told me they were looking to contact a person who has the same last name as I do (which is a VERY common last name) and the same first initial. When I informed them that I was not that person, and no one by that name lived at that phone number, they did say they would remove my number from their dialer within 24 hours. I'll let you know if I continue to get calls. I'll also let the BBB and the FTC know if they continue.

Hi

In my opinion you should pull out your credit report from one of the bureaus and check whether there is any false listing or not. There are many collection agencies that report bogus debts to bully innocent people. Regular credit report monitoring is the best guard against identity theft. :D

This company keeps contacting me and THEY HAVE THE WRONG PARTY. Every time I call them back to let them know I am not the individual they are seeking, their reps sound so incredibly ignorant, and are rude, belligerent, obnoxious, start laughing, and you name it. I am so sick of these people. I wish the Federal Communications Commission or whoever is responsible would crack down on these people. They are out of control.

Just got a call from them looking for someone who I've never heard of. They called my cell phone and it's a number I've had for almost 10 years! So I called them back and they were very vague and rude when telling me that they would take my number off the call list... I doubt it though after reading everyone's experiences with them.

I called the state of Missouri after this company sent my wife a 9K collection letter for taxes from a state we have never lived in. It turns out that Missouri did have a hold not a debt and that AI made up the amounts to try and collect. Missouri wanted to confirm that my wife had a Nursing license from that state but had not practiced there. AI is Dirty...DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO.

This collection company like many others fails to do a simple check of who they are actually calling. Over the last several years I have received many hundreds of calls for others' debts not my own. Their people locating software must be really lame. It seems to search for all phone numbers associated with the address of a debtor. This provides a lot of false hits on apartments like mine. My name/number starts with an "A" and must sort to the top of the list. lame

I get collection calls for everyone who has lived in my large apartment complex who DOES have collectors after them. But many (over 10)collection agencies call me wanting to speak with over 100 different people. I tell the collectors calling me to take me off the list & I don't know all these people but Since we all have the same address BUT different apt.numbers, the collection agencies call me again & again asking for different names. I have reported them to the FTC,BBB,Attny.General,Consumer Servives,AND had an attorney write a letter BUT this agency-ALLIED INTERSTATE (877)642-1263 & 866-753-3671 is ONE of the worst & Won't stop calling asking for different people.

We just received a call from a man from AI and he was looking for a man with the same name with a student loan, my husband told him he was 69 yrs old and did not have a student loan and the man said sorry to bother you! So I guess they are getting better.

I called back to tell them to quit it and the girl was very rude, telling me, "why would we call if its not the right number?" As if i am a liar! why would they call? BECAUSE THEY ARE IDIOTS who prank call innocent people like adolescents!

Getting the same calls as many others it sounds like. Calling me and demanding I pay a debt for somebody I have never heard of.

I currently have them on my call rejection list. My next step will be the FTC.

What are we paying this government for. It seems that there is not a prevailing legal authority to stop this criminal harrasment, which is what it is when you get 5 - 10 of these calls a day.

Haven't called be back since initially blocking their number. On a side note, just a few days ago my husband and I received a letter from Equifax dated May 5th stating a fraud alert was placed under both of our names.

About a couple of months back i ordered some books from a very promising book club because it seemed to have good offers. I recieved my books a few weeks later and in a couple of days i made my payments via money order. I was so upset to find out that now AI is charging me via mail for something i already paid for and i still have the stub if i am not mistaken. What should i do?

For everyone whom have an account with Allied Interstate, it might be in your best interest to get this situation resloved IMMEDIATELY! I work at Allied Interstate and the postive things that we can do for you in the future, is way better than phone calls here and there. I work in the Government Services Division (Federal) and we have a lot of collection options for unpaid debts. Make sure you stay consistant on payments, on coorespondence, and especially phone calls because we will go foward with other options.

Oh, and if someone tells us to stop calling them, we stop calling and mark the number as DNC and Wrong Number. It may take up to 2 days for the auto-dialer to take effect. But if you are the person we are looking for, then further actions will be taken.

Disclaimer: Just giving advice to people with accounts with Allied Interstate, different rules apply in different states in USA. Information that was said can change at any time, follow advice wisely.

I have received numerous calls from 866-460-9016 on home and cell phone and never is a message left. I finally decided to call, and asked who I was calling and was told AI. I asked why I received the calls and they asked me for personal info. I refused to give any. I asked them what kind of company they worked for and was told that they represent numerous companies - but refused to name any of them. I asked to speak to a supervisor, then that person's supervisor and finally asked for the corporate address and the name of the Chief Executive Officer and was told I could not have that information, and was asked why I needed it. They refused to validate themselves to me as a company until I gave them some security info. I refused. I finally recieved an address - 3000 Corporate Exchange Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43231 and looked up that information on the interenet with phone number and did not find anything listed. So what can be done about these people?

These people are calling me everyday several times a day. When we answer the phone they don't say anything. Yesterday I called them back and they said they were looking for someone who does not live here. I asked them to stop calling. They said they would. Today they started back this time they said they were looking for me. I asked them why and they said it was for a Publishers Clearing House debt. I have never ordered anything from them. I told them that and to stop calling me. Now they are calling me every thirty minutes. How can I make them stop I have filed complaints with FTC and National Do Not Call Registry. I can't leave my phone off the hook all the time.
