Digital Signatures?

Does anyone know anything about digital signatures? Are they legal, will they hold up in court? We had wages garnished, and employer told us the digital signature looke just like my husbands. She sent us a copy of the letter, and the signature was typed not written. We did not sign anything in person, and we did not have any thing notorized. It was a voluntary wage assignment through Northway financial. Is there any thing we can do since we live in Oregon and voluntary wage assignment is not leagal in Oregon? Also, this company is not licensed in Oregon? Any advice would be appreciated.
On Voluntary wage assignments, they have to be signed in person
On Voluntary wage assignments, they have to be signed in person with ink and notorized to stand up...the are revokable at any time either way
