Rehabilitate Student Loan w/ Allied Interstate

allied interstate has my defaulted student loan, threatened wage garnishment (yes I received notice) but hasn't as of yet and is completely rude to try & work with. ASA had it but now refers me to Allied.

I want to rehabilitate this loan & pay it off ($13K) as I am now working. Is there any other way to communicate with anyone about rehabilitation outside of Allied? These people are the rudest most arrogant people you can speak with is writing even worth it? Time is of the essence. If not how do I call a number when the person on the other end swears at you? Thank you.

If ASA refuses to work with you, then you must deal with allied interstate. You can either try calling and looking for different reps to speak to, or communicate by mail. You can mail (use return receipt) AI a letter stating that you will only communicate through the mail--telephone calls from them are not permitted, and also write requesting the SL rehab.

Dedicated to my son-in-law a Dessert Storm vet who lost quite a large portion of his back when stage4 Melanoma was discovered after being exposed to depleted uranium in Kuwait (he was a gunner in a tank) along with the drugs given to all Dessert Storm vets while serving in Kuwait!

After Kuwait he resigned with honors. After 911 he joined the Texas National Guard. In total he has dedicated 14 yrs. of his life to defend our country.

He was just re-assigned this past week from Brownsville (Texas Southern Division National Guard) to the North Texas division.

The North Tx. division is being deployed to Iraq for 18 mos.

Although, none of our family support our involvement in Iraq....we are very proud of Bill and ask that everyone remember to pray for our soldiers, veterans, and their families! Many pay a very high price for our freedom.

God Bless all of you!

No - i have not returned the letter as of yet or signed anything. It was received back in January. Should I sign & return it? Ask for a hearing? Please help. Thank you.

Your notice was due back within 30 days of the date of letter. You can still return it and request a hearing but at this point if they start to garnish you, it will not stop until they get around to the hearing. Hearings are granted to those who return the appeal docs within the 30 days first, so it could take awhile to get around to your hearing.
