can collection agencies or any credit card company call/harass you on a sunday??

It use to be that they could not call on Sundays, but it seems more and more places are. Many moons ago when I worked for a collection agency/credit bureau, we were not all owed to call before 8:00 AM (customers time) or after 8:00 PM (customers time) and were not allowed to call on Sundays. I worked sometimes on Sundays and could only prepare letters to go out on Monday and catch up on notes, etc. We usually closed at 6:00, so people that we were collecting on did not have to worry about us after 6:00. Any more, though, Sunday seems to just be another day for these places. I asked my mortgage company one day when they called about calling on Sundays and they told me that it didn't matter what day they called. Sundays were the best day to call because most people are home on Sundays and it is easier to get a hold of people who owe money. Of course, we were not on a "dialer" system. We put in the numbers ourselves and gosh, we were even able to read notes!

It is a shame a person cannot have at least one day to spend with their family without having to deal with CAs or anyone else.

Original creditors can fall under fdcpa in very few unique situations. If they call you and give a different company name or any dirty tricks like that, fdcpa takes over. If they mail anything showing another company not related to oc in a trick to collect, fdcpa takes over. The full text of fdcpa shows how they can fall under it.

Thanksgiving Day??? That is just wrong! I think things have gotten so out of hand that it isn't funny. Heck, what happened to Suday's being a "day of rest" or holidays being for spending time with family? Ok, so no one rests on Sundays any more, but it can be a family day and no one wants to be disturbed that day or on holidays. Can put one in a very bad mood!!! I know it has me!

a creditor is allowed to call on Sunday ! I am a bill collector for a large credit card company .They have lawyers that review everything and trust me if it is a large and well known company and they are calling on Sunday it is legal they dont want to take any chances. All of the calls are documented and they record all of the dates and times of calls we are not allowed to call out before 8 am or after 9 pm the computer will automatically stop us from doing any illegal calls such as dialing out of regulations and we get written up immediatly and counseled and many will be walked out if we violate laws.Sundays it is legal to call you can request no calls on your account
