Corporate Receivables calling me to hell - how can I stop them?
Any ideas are much appreciated,
How did they find out where my new job is??? Is it legal??
Hello,
Robert West called me at my new job which I just got a month ago. I never told him that I was back working again. I have been paying my debt directly to HSBC just because I know they still own the original debt, so why not?
He left me a voicemail at work!!!! What the hell? Who knows if he spoke to anyone high up in the company!!! He must have tracked through my Social Security Number where I am working, NO???
Can i take any legal action for him tracking me down like this?
Thank You,
Adam
cosignor on a loan
I have gotten 2 phone calls at work by Aaron Bell from Corporate Recivables for a loan I cosigned for. He told me he would reduce the loan amount. I could get another loan to pay off this loan. He said if I did not do this they could lower my credit score, close all my other credit accounts (ie JC Penny, Les Schwab) and my other credit card account that I am paying on would raise their interest rate to probably 21.99% thus doubling my payment. I would have bad or no credit for the next 5 years. Is this all true or a scare tactic?

This guy left a very rude message for my husband. I called him back to find out what company he was representing and he treated me like sh--. He tried to act like he didn't know who I was. He kept hanging up on me. Who does he think he's kidding. I might be willing to work with someone who is nice, but this guy's not getting anything from us.

I just came from the FTC.gov site to register a complaint after receiving the most belligerent and condescending phone calls I've ever had. This employee named Glen Rice for Corporate Accounts Receivable called and frankly I would've been happy to settle my account if it weren't for this jerk. Is there any recourse a person can take against an employee like this or the company that hires him? It is even more disturbing when I read the posts on this site to find that I am not alone in this unwarranted abuse.
DEBT COLLECTORS LAST POST
Since you are obviously an "educated" person, and can figure out that everyone's story is a lie (~sarcasm~), why the hell can't you spell? I mean c'mon, we all know you are a debt collector from your nasty attitude. People are on here trying to get out of debt and find other people that can help them do it. We dont need people LIKE YOU to come on here and call us cry babies and take RESPONSIBLIY (as you spelled it, haha) for our actions. I think people that are trying to work with their debt and get it paid off ARE INDEED taking responsibility by making a conscious effort to get out of debt! You obviously became a debt collector because you didnt go to college and couldnt make anything out of yourself!
Corporate Receivables, Inc.
The people in this company are trained to harrass people and to be as nasty as possible to piss everyone off in order to get a payment out of everybody. The agents use fake names.
If you wish to resolve your harrassments, write them a statue letter stating that you wish their company to leave you alone and not to contact you anymore. Do not bother calling them!!!! Its not worth it and it will just get things worse!!! After they receive your statute letter, they are only allowed to call you one more time and then they can only send you letters. When they send you letters, do not worry about it. Just ingnore all of their letters b/c there is technically nothing that they can do to you! Belive me from my own experience.
They will never tell you this but I will!!! GOOD LUCK : )
Corporate Receivables
Hi, my name is llesena, I used to work for corporate receivables about 4 years ago and I gotta tell ya their not gonna stop calling you. To try to help you out Jules, they by law do not have to stop calling your place of employment unless you send them a written letter stating they cannot call that number. It has to be in writing and it is not forever. It expires in a certain amount of time and then by law they can call again. There is truthfully not to much you can do. Its not a scam company either, I can tell you we as collectors make over 100 grand a year and our company collects over 1 million dollars a month. They are one of the number one bill collection companys another company will go to to collect their bad debt. It is true that the only way to get them to stop calling is to pay the bill. And Mary Shaw of course not her real name is one of the most polite and wonderful people I have ever met. And Mr. Davis is not abusive, he is an awesome boss!! And so is glenn and every one else mentioned on this site. They are just people doing their job and yes I know they can be harsh at times but just pay your bill and you wont have the problem. A helpful solution would be to look up the laws for the FDCPA/ Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. If you see laws on there that they are breaking you can sue them.
Holy Cow!
I also received a very disturbing phone call from Mr. Jeremy Peters AKA Peterson. He was looking 4 my fiance who could not be reached at that moment. I politely asked him what it was regarding and was there anything I could do. He swiftly cut me off and wanted to know where he was. I told him he was at work and could not be disturbed but he could call him back the following morning when he would be in. Mr Peters then demanded that I give him the phone # where my fiance could be reached. I repeated the same info to him but he didnt really seem to care because he cut me off mid sentence. He then decided that I was pulling a fast one on him and said " Oh I get it I know what's going on here." He then hung up. All I can say is that Jeremy Peters must know something I didnt, I still dont know what debt he's calling about he cant seem to figure it out but he's sure good at criminal activity. He went on to call my fiance at work the same day which is illegal in California and when my fiance couldnt come to the phone he demanded to speak to his boss. Personally I think Jeremy Peters or whatever his name is and the Co. he works for are criminals behaving poorly and thats not saying much for criminals. They need to be stopped and I will do what ever it takes to start the process. If anyone has any pertinant info regarding this please reply. I will be researching names, alias' , addresses, favorite foods ETC... I can play their game too. I'll post as soon as I have these things.
Me too
My husband has been getting calls from "Ben Collins" He actually told him to pawn soem stuff to pay his bill and then asked where he worked and the phone number, when my husband refused to give him the number he started to belittle him. He then somehow looked up where he worked and called them today. I called him to complain and he laughed at me and when I threatened that we have rights as consumers he came back with "I dont understand YOU people" He then called my husband a liar because I confronted him telling my husband that payment arrangements were a refusal to pay unless we paid the full amount. He said he never said that and that my husband did refuse to pay. When I asked him about the "pawning" comment he just said "I simply have him a few suggestions" Is this legal?

Corporate Recievables Scam
This company is the worse company ever. 1st i had to deal with Joey North who tried to scare me by saying that if I don' pay over the phone all of the credit companies will know that I have bad credit. Then he tells me that I have 3 days to think about it and I should come up with $1300 and hangs up the phone on me. When I called back couple of days later a guy by the name Jeremy Peters picks up and says he is going to be dealing with me from now on. Let me just say that it was the same person, Joey North if thats really his real name was pretending to be Jeremy Peters also if that is a real name. All I want to say is that this is a piece of Sh*t company, do not pay them a dime. I have dealt with a collection agency before and they were real nice and were willing to work with me. I believe that this company is run by 2 or 3 people with gazillion different fake names. I wouldn't be surprised if they were working out of home. I can never get a supervisor over the phone, I have called and left messages and NO ONE replies back. Definetly file a complaint . Also if you call Federal Trade Commission @ (877) FTC-HELP and file a cmplaint on this company it will help a lot. I already complained and they told me that the more people complain about this company, the more likey they will investigate and shut them down.
Good luck everyone
Worse comes to worse they might take us to small claim court where we can stand before a judge and prove our story. Keep all records, phone conversations and names.

Corporate Recievables
I am 5 months behind on a HSBC account and when I called them it was reffered to Corporate Recievables. I dont;l want to call them after reading posts. Is this company still affiliated with HSBC or is it a collection agency? Has HSBC written off the account and sold it to Corporate Recievables?
kevin nash
You guys are mean. This is not right they are just doing there jobs. I had to deal with Kevin Nash and he had to be the nicest man I have dealt with. I had to deal with someone else before him who would not help me. Then I got him and he explained how I got there and how I could get out. Thank you Kevin if you read these.

When you haven't paid HSBC they then turn the account over to Corporate Receivables. They are a terrible, rude, non-helpful, etc etc etc. company. I was told it isn't affecting your credit with them as long as you pay it but I think that is bs and I am having my credit report checked. Here is all the information that you need to getting your problem solved. Both company's enjoy the song and dance scenario.

They will tell you nothing. They will only send you a piece of paper saying pay this and what you owe. Supposedly there is a minimum amount of $250. But they won't tell you that and your bill will keep aquiring interest and late payments. They will tell you to pay on a certain date or not even know what date but you are still getting late fees. They withhold information until you ask the right question. Also, making a settlement with them will affect your credit. It looks better if you pay it off in full. They don't care about you or your credit. They only care about the money. They are HORRIBLE!!!

This is where you can only get a statement of your itemized bill from. Make sure they have the correct address. Their statements go out on the 23rd of every month and you should receive them in 7-10 business days.
I have been given the run around since April of 2008. I have been paying and I have been very cooperative with them. I have every intention when I pay my balance off to make as many people aware of both companies shadiness, poor customer service, with holding information, changing answers etc etc. FTC.gov is a site to make complaints about these types of companies. I could total understand if I wasn't paying, being rude, etc but they way they treat people is unacceptable. It is my duty and right to make not only the people aware but other companies and their own owners realize their team is terrible.
I have been working with Corporate Receivables to settle a debt
I have been working with Corporate Receivables to settle a debt owe for a BowFlex that I purchased. I had lost my job, etc couldn't make the payment. Blah. Anyway, I did work out a payment plan with them and the payments reflect on the statement from Nautilus. So I don't think it is scam. Actually I will be paying off my debt next month.
Refer to the Debt Collections Act
Read the Act. You will find what they can do to you and what they can't, which it sounds like they are violating the law. You may be able to collect money from them if you get an attorney to help you out. These agencies cannot harrass you.
I have been reading alot about the act andhow it can help. I am
I have been reading alot about the act andhow it can help. I am finding alot about if they contact you wrongfully. Im not disputing I owe the money, i just had a question on if they can really charge me for credit abuse? Thank you all for the help!!!

Ok so I am dealing with these idiots too. Aaron Bell (so he says) in particular. And what's funny is I CALLED THEM TO GIVE THEM MONEY! My husband is deployed to Iraq right now and I am handling his accounts while he is gone. In contactin the original creditor I was referred to Corporate Receivables as the company that is handling our past due balance. I called with my checkbook in hand prepared to quickly take care of the full balance and be done with it and I was actually badgered by the man at the mention of my husband being overseas. I was called names. Threatened and yelled at. When I asked if I could provide a power of attorney to help things along he was actually upset to have to give me a fax number to send it to...and I didn't even get that until I called back...after he hung up on me! It is infuriating. I am in the process of filing complaints and speaking with the upper management of my original creditor about their decision to employ this obviously unprofessional company to handle their accounts. I've never been so insulted. Good luck to you all....someone needs to do something about these people.
HSBC to CR
My loan fell behind, and they turned it over to CR. I called HSBC and told them I was going to be able to pay them within one week, 3 days later, CR called. Wanting the entire amount of the loan payed in full. HSBC said the loan wasn't in Recovery yet, that it should be ok to wait a week more.
CR refuses to take anything but the entire amount. HSBC says it's out of their hands. Is there anything anyone knows I can do, to get the loan back with HSBC ? I have the money to pay them, but not the money for the whole loan. They will have to repo it if they want the whole thing.
I, too, have had the "pleasure" of being contacted by CR. A man
I, too, have had the "pleasure" of being contacted by CR. A man by the name of Mitch Young has called me at work many times after I told him not to call me at work. He says he can call me within the "laws of the system". He is a total a** and after seeing this thread, I am glad I'm not the only one. I, too, owe funds to HSBC (Furniture Row). I had a credit line of $4500 in which I was paying monthly on. They increased my payment to $200/month (up from $20/month) and when I called them to indicate I couldn't pay this much, they basically turned my account over to CR. Mitch Young threatened me with garnishment and that he was going to recommend that "they pursue legal action". At that point, I hung up on him and will be sending them a debt verification letter along with a ceast & desist letter. Don't know how much good that will do, but at least I will start the paper trail.
Good luck everybody with these scumbags. Note: I want to pay this obligation and in no way think I can get out of paying. However, with these tactics, and the fact that my credit report is already screwed up, they'll be lucky to get a dime from me if they continue to treat and harrass me this way.
I'M BACK!!!
HELLO,
DID Y'ALL MISS ME?!! I KNOW YOU SURE DID!!
OKAY, LET'S BE REALISTIC HERE PEOPLE! THE PROBLEM IS THAT MOST OF "YOU" DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP ALL YOUR BILLS PAID UP TO DATE. HAD YOU "ALL" WOULD HAVE KEPT YOUR BILLS PAID UP TO DATE THAN YOU ALL WOULD NOT BE EXPERIENCING THESE CALLS 4RM BY THE WAY MIGHT I ADD IS THE "#1 COLLECTION AGENCY" IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!
I AM NOT TRYING TO BASH ON ANYBODY I'M JUST SIMPLY STATING MY OPINION & I AM ENTITLED TO ONE & I CHOSE TO STATE IT ON HERE AS EVERYBODY ELSE. SO QUICK QUESTION ?? WHY DO YOU KEEP ERASING MY REPLIES?
HELLO
IN ALL REALITY CRI COLLECTORS ARE ONLY DOING THEIR JOB & FOR YOU TO FEEL THE NEED TO EXPLOIT THEM & THEIR PERSONAL INFORMATION IS STEPPING OUT OF LINE & THAT IS JUST WRONG IN EVERY WAY SHAPE OR FORM.
THEY ARE PERSISTANT; WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT? I MEAN COME ON PEOPLE: IF YOU FEEL THEY ARE SO DISRESPECTING THAN ASK YOURSELF THIS; WHY THE HECK DO YOU STAY ON THE PHONE & PUT UP WITH WHAT YOU FEEL IS DISRESPECTFULLNESS OR JUST RUDE PEOPLE? WHY CONTINUE TO HOLD ON TO THE PHONE & LISTEN??? HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF LETTING THEM SPEAK TO THE TONE?? DIAL TONE THAT IS! I MEAN THERE ARE ALOT OF WAYS AROUND THIS BUT THE ONLY WAY TO REALLY MAKE SURE THEY WILL LEAVE YOU ALL ALONE IS JUST BY SIMPLY "PAYING YOUR BILLS ON TIME".
THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME VOICE MY OPINION & FOR "NOT" DELETING THIS FOR THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH WHAT I'M SAYING!

My experience with the CR organization is that now is the time for strong federal oversight of the entire collections industry. feel free to contact your congresspeople and your friends at the Federal Trade Commission and tell them how you feel. Anyone who works in the customer contact arm of this type of business needs to be qualified by an independent examination, as other industries are. As it stands, the colections business has no standards for personal evaluation. They should also be required to entered into a DNA database and submit to an hour long psychiatric interview as many of these employees have major emotional problems coming into the job. Honestly, how many psychologically normal people would choose to deal with large numbers of psychologically unstable people day in and day out ? A strong psych interview administered by a third party qualification group would rapidly weed out those who are emotionally unfit for this line of work, who are , sadly, even more emotionally unfit for other lines of work, which is why they have to work in the collections business in the first place.

Anyone have info on Mike Anderson? I dial 800.643.2376 and he picks up right away saying, "Corporate Receivables, this is Mike." Just wondering if anyone has had to deal with him.
Fare debt reporting act permits you or your employeer to advise
Fare debt reporting act permits you or your employeer to advise them under the act that your employeer does not want them calling to collect a debt. They have to comply I know I have done it and it has worked. CR appears to ritually violate the fair debt collection act and it is illegal. I would suggest recording the conversation (check local laws on recording conversations) AZ law where they are located states that one party must know it is being recorded, for that law to prevail they must call you. For your states laws to prevail you must call them. I suggest reading the fair debt collection act and speaking with a contractual law professional.

Hi sweetness.
Try reading about predatory lending before you make up your mind. Also have you heard of loan sharking? This is only a leagl for of it. People should a will pay, but they should only have to pay what is fair.
Corporate Receivables is the most horrible place to go business
Corporate Receivables is the most horrible place to go business with, here I am trying to set up a new payment plan because I had to cancel my old checking account, and they tell me that they cant do it! But that account no longer exists! I am trying to do the right thing and they are "REFUSING PAYMENT", and I am being extra nice because I know how they are and they tell me that they dont like "my" tone, I had no choice but to thell them EFF YOU and hang up on them, now they are not getting SH*T!
Like I said
CR employees are emotionally disturbed. Always rememeber that when you're dealing with them. Low IQ plus deep seated emotional problems. You have to talk to them like you talk to a very large infant with very low verbal comprehension and poor communication skills. Who else would work for them ?
Corporate Receivables
A collector from corporate receivables called me about a debt I had with Best Buy. At first I was angry that I kept getting calls from them but when I answered the phone and actually spoke to the collector I was surprised at how they were willing to work with me to payoff this debt.
