Corporate Receivables calling me to hell - how can I stop them?
Any ideas are much appreciated,
Corporate Receivables claim
Hi all this is Jules again. I'm real confused regardng this Corporate Receivables collection agency that claims I owe them money. I just pulled my credit report and they have shown up as an inquirery, but they are not listed as a company that I owe money to. One would think that if they own this account like Corporate Receivables claim, they would report this information on my credit report? Who are these poeple? Corporate Receivables keeps callin my work claims I owe $2000 to them, but there isn't even an account on my report that has that amount????
Ask for dv from Corporate Receivables
HI Julesp
Welcome to the forums. Ask Corporate Receivables to validate the debt. Also send them a letter stating that you do not wish to communicate with them further except providing you a validation of the said debt.
The validation letter will include the following details of your account.
- The details of the account.
- All the calculation should be shown of the amount that is owed.
- Any copies of the papers to be furnished that shows the payment agreement.
- Provide a verification or copy of any judgment if applicable
- The original creditor needs to be identified.
- The Statute of Limitation needs to be proven for the collection of the debt.
- The license of the collection agency applicable in the state is to be furnished along with the license numbers and Registered Agent
- Proof of the agreement that the debt collector has purchased the debt or has been hired by the creditor to collect the debt from the debtor as this is the basic contract law.
- Complete payment history showing the details of the creditors, payment history, amount of the debt, break up of fees/interest should be provided in paper.
- A copy of the original signed loan agreement between the debtor and the original creditor establishing the debt between both the parties also has to be produced.
If Corporate Receivables are not able to provide you the following details about your account, it will prove that they are misrepresenting your accounts and you will file a class action lawsuit against them.
You can record all the telephonic communication with them and produce it to your lawyer.

Corporate Receivables validate debt
Thanks for the reply Roxette. I asked Corporate Receivables the first time he called about verifing the debt, and he went ballistic on me, lol. Sorry I have to laugh at this guy, I have settled with all but 2 other debtors (Corp Rec, possibly being one of the 2 I have left) but this guy is so rude, and wont let me get a word in edgewise, I'm not sure where to even start bartering with him for a settlement. I wasn't rude to this guy at all the first time he contaed me, he was the one that was obnoxiously rude. I will send them a letter requesting verification of the debt, but for some reason I don't see Corporate Receivables furnishing my request--I think this place is a scam. There was one collection agency on my credit report yesterday, that listed an account I originally had with HRS, which Corporate Receivables claims they are collecting for, but on my CR it has Arrow Financial as the collection agency as the collector--could Corporate Receivables be on in the same as Arrow?
Communicate with Corporate Receivables via CRRR
Hi Julesp
Welcome back. It is possible that the debt collection agencies often pass on the debt accounts to some other agency when they face difficulties in recovering it.
However, you will pay to only that agency that is appearing in your credit report. It is that particular collection agency only who has to report to your credit bureaus that you have completed your payments and your accounts should be shown as Paid in full.
Always communicate with Corporate Receivables through mail with return receipt requested and ask for validation before you start making payments to your debt.

Corporate Accounts Receivables, Inc
I just came from the FTC.gov site to register a complaint after receiving the most belligerent and condescending phone calls I've ever had. This employee named Glen Rice for Corporate Accounts Receivable called and frankly I would've been happy to settle my account if it weren't for this jerk. Is there any recourse a person can take against an employee like this or the company that hires him? It is even more disturbing when I read the posts on this site to find that I am not alone in this unwarranted abuse.

Corporate Recievables harassment
Readers,
I too have been harassed by Corporate Receivables, Derrick Miller in particular. Right you are about the attitude. I have been getting phone calls and messages from Corporate Receivables since July. I have asked to have verification sent to me. Derrick said they have sent information to my house and they don't need to send any more, I just need to pay! They ask for the last four digits of your SS # to verify that they have the wrong person. Don't give out any information over the phone. Ask them for verification. Well it is obvious they have purchased a debt or are working a debt for some one who can't find there original customer. There are thirteen people in Arizona with the same first and last name as me. And that's just looking through the phone books on line. They just call them all until they get some results. They don't even do any homework on it. If they had sent information to me they would surly know that the address they sent the information to did not match the address of the number in the phone book that they found me in. Further more if I owed anyone, I think Corporate Receivables would be listed on my credit report which rates me above 770. I am in the process of filing complaints to: Arizona State Banking Department, who regulate collection agencies in Arizona, Arizona Attorney General, Better Business Bureau and any one else I can find. Good luck to the rest of you.

The owner is Bruce Davis wife Nancy Davis. Daughter is Danielle.
glen rice is really Ron Johnwell. He has been hired and fired many times from Corporate Recievables. His brother is Chris Johnwell (he also works there)
The owner is a very abusive leader and it shows in his collectors approach.
If you want to really get results I sugest you contact an attorney who specializes in litigation of collection agencies.
P.S. they all use aliases.
Also contact and file a complaint with the original creditor. They will have to answer to them once complaint is filed.

Anyone know the real name of Mary Shaw And Abraham Smith, Same BS same problems. Just want to know who Im dealing with.
corporate recievables threatened with everything
I've had problems with the same company, Corporate Recievables. Looking at what some people are saying,I am no longer as p#$**!@ as I was before. I was treated like dirt and threatened with everything but capital punishment if I didnt pay the money "owed". Does anyone know if Corporate Receivables is even legit? I paid them $1500. and want to know if I've been ripped off.
wpbflorida, Few things should be checked before you make paym
wpbflorida,
Few things should be checked before you make payments. collection agencies collect money and it's not wrong to pay them when you really owe the debt, but they should produce debt validation before they start collection procedures. Otherwise how the borrower could understand whether he/she is paying to the right company?
Always keep records of your payments, it's important.
Collection agency cannot harass you by any means. According to the rules stated under fdcpa, they cannot threat you, nor can they use abusive language. You can file complaint against them if they do so.
Since you've already paid an amount to them, I'll suggest you to contact your original creditor to check if the installment reached to them? It can help you to decide whether you will continue to pay this collection agency in future.
Another Corporate Recievables problem!
Wow, just read all of your remarks about Corporate Receivables. I have had the same problems as the rest of you! The person we were dealing with is Ben Collins.
We asked for proof in writing, we were refused. We told him several times not to contact my husband at work, and he continues. He even began harassing employees at my hubby's company! We are defintly filing a complaint against this company!

I got a phone call last night from "Anthony Jackson" who was extremely condescending and told me they would ruin my credit report for the next ten years if I didn't pay them the money I owed on a debt. I haven't even gotten anything in the mail from them and I am still getting monthly bills from the company they say they are collecting for. This man made me cry he was so rediculous. I'm a college educated woman and he spoke to me like I didn't know how credit worked. Bunch of scam artists I think. Don't you think they could access your credit report and see who you owed? ALl they have to do is call you and say they are collecting that debt for that company and take your money. If anyone knows anything else about this company, I'd really like to hear it.

Corporate Receiving - AARON BELL???
Hi,
I have read a few of your all's postings and just wondering if any one of you have gotten a extremely rude phone call or message from a man named AARON/ARON BELL? I really want to know how to report this man. He is very belligerent and extremely rude. I too would of settled with him about our account, but I almost couldnt get a word in edge wise with all of his yelling and rude comments. I have saved a few of his messages on my answering machine. I also asked to speak with a supervisor and he told me NO! He said " Try it" anytime you call you will just be sent right to me"...ugghh. Thanks for any responses!!

MARY SHAW corporate receivables
I thought they only let things like her out on Halloween!!!!!!! Guess we were wrong!! Has been after a member of our family for a while now. Evil, Evil women. What gives them the right to make people feel like a piece of @@#$? I hope this company goes down FAST. I don't know if it would do any good but I will be writing a letter to Best Buy and telling them that they might get more results faster if they dealt with a different company then this one. I could go on and on about this thing calling our house but I am better than her. By the way, she had the guts to tell ME, who had nothing to do with this bill that I was a LIAR. I just figure her day will come
Harrassment
I Have the same issue, but have mailed them letter very long, and sent them payment. our issue started when we sent a request for address to HSBC who acknowledged the request with a letter to us, but there after there was no communication from HSBC (i.e. monthly statem, late notice, etc.)and we will not pay any bills without statements. anyway to make a long story short HSBC stated they sold the account to Corporate Receivables. We were not delinquent in our obliguations to HSBC, we were makeing more than the monthly premium so we could pay out early, anyway corporate receivables started harassing my mother who is over 60-years old, stating that the account had not been paid since 2-2005, which is when we received letter from HSBC acknowledging our request for address change. anyway Corporate receivables stopped caling my mother for almost 3-weeks and now they are harassing her again, the woman who has been calling is very rude, and like everyone else stated above will not let you get a word in edge wise. as I said earlier, we sent letter with payment requesting them not to call, and form there after to make all communications via mail, and that we would make monthly payment from this day forward, as long as statement is sent. so what is our next step when we have tried to correct the problem that did not start with us but with HSBC (have all documentation)?

Hi Allen
Welcome to the forums.
Check your latest credit report to confirm if Corporate Receivable has purchased your debt from HSBC.
If Corporate Receivables has purchased the debt, you will have to make payments to them only.
Aside, you can file your case against HSBC on the basis of all your documentation. If you win the case, arrangements will be made towards your debt.

An idiot named Anthony Jacksonkeeps calling even though I've asked him not too. Due to a major illness I've fallen behind on my bills. What type of legal action can be taken against me? Can they put a lien on my house, confiscate my motorcycle, throw me in a secret debtors prison in Eastern Europe! I've offered to make payments of $50.00/month on a $900.00 debt, but the idiot refused, he told me to borrow it, however he refused to loan it to me.

Gregl,
Let me tell you there is no debtors jail any more in the world. But if a debtor tries to escape from his debts deceitfully, creditors can take legal actions against them, but that should involve local court as well.
They cannot seize your property for an unsecured debt. However, if the issue goes to court ultimately, court will definitely evaluate your property to understand if you can pay your bills at all.
IMHO, there is nothing to get scared right now. Negotiate with them. Explain them why you cannot pay more than $50 per month. If possible try to settle the account with your original creditor.
Another suggestion, if you decide to pay, make an agreement of your payment and never send them a dime without keeping any document. Feel free to ask your questions in the forums.

I have had the same problems with CRInc. I am presently paying them off. I origonly taled with Mary Shaw. She called me several at work and refused to call me at home when requested. I almost lost my job over this woman. Later I called a friend of mine who had a problem with simular problems and gave me this information. Try writting it in this form and CRinc should get the picture. Also send it by certified mail with return reciept requested. They have to sign if recieved.

I also contacted Mary Shaw and recorded the conversation. I also had a witness to the call. Who is a former member of Homeland Security. When I had the witness talk to her she told me that I was not cooperating and hung up.
I set up payments that will last a little over a year. I send it in writting that this is the way it's going to be done. I also set it up that I have a fee posted. Ten dollars a month for my troubles. They don't like it and ignore the fee, but it's legal and it works.

You are very much conscious about your rights and federal laws as well. There is nothing to worry. Send your letter through CMRRR and keep the copies of your correspondence and the return receipt safely.
Mention that you would prefer to be contacted through mails and tell them not to call at your work. If they dishonor your request after receiving this mail, you can complaint file against them with FTC, BBB and AG's office.

So far after a about a year of paying CR off I have had submitted several complaints to the FTC. Some on line and one on the phone. I was told by the lady I talked to from the FTC that Everything I am doing is very legit and to keep up with what I am doing. The lady at the FTC even said it wss ok to bill CR with a fee for my letters and payments. I am currently charging them 10 dollars a letter. I informed CR of this and have not recieved any letters saying that they would not take the fee. So in this case I do have a contract with CR with the 10 dollar fee. Also feel free to record the conversasions with CR. Many state will allow you to record your conversations for legal use. I have done so and have submited them to the FTC. I do owe the debt and do want to pay it off. I would not have had to do the things I did to CR if I had been treated much better. I currently am looking at more information on the people that run CR and will pass it along if I get the info I'm looking for. If anyone would like to include any other info that they get I will make me very happy. I believe that CR should be run out of business and that the people causing these problems be prosicuted.

I'm in the same boat
After reading all of the complaints against CR, I'm truely convinced that there has to be a problem. This all started in the beginning of Jan. 2006. My rep. John Fox, ha, is a real character. This guy talks to me like were aquainted somehow. He's rude, abnoxious, irate, I could go on forever. He feels he can get away with it because the phone conversations are not recorded, so he says. I called his bluff today. I recorded the whole conversation. He had originally said that if I put down $700.00 he would knock off $500.00 of my debt with HRS, and that the rest could be paid off in pymt. arrangements. The debt is for $2668.00. He reniged. I wrote him a letter with a proposal of $300.00 a month for no more with 7 months providing that he would deduct the $500.00. He says that he never received it. Right!! He was so willing to accept the proposal until I bought up the deduction. He went ballistic. No, you breeched your contract. I'm going have to write it up as refusal to pay. I've been hearing this since the beginning of Jan. Refusal to pay. How is this a refusal to pay when you try to make payment arrangements. I returned his call the 1st time I was contacted. Trying to negotiate a pymt. arrangement is not a refusal to pay I kept telling him. He said, "you don't tell me what you can pay, I tell you what to pay". I said you know what everything you have been saying is being recorded. When we go to court I'll make sure the Judge hears every nasty comment you have made. He said that it was illegal to record the conversations. Not where I'm from it isn't. I sinced a change in his tone. He tried to be calm. Didn't work. I told I'm filing a complaint against him with the BBB. He laughed, and said I don't care. Then I said I was also going to file with the FTC. Silence.... I asked do you care about them, he answered yes. Still didn't do any good after awhile. He said you're never going to see me, and I'm never going to see you. What do I do about getting this debt paid off? Why should one have to go court to get it resolved? These were more questions for him. Payment has to be in full now he now says. Otherwise I'm going to write it up as a refusal to pay. If this is what has to be, then so be it. They will make the arrangemements there. Any ideas about getting this resolved? I would sure appreciate it. This is my last debt owed. Everyone other creditor/1 other collection agency, worked with me. What is the problem? Do these people have mental issues? Corporate Receivables should be committed.
Someone really should put this place under a microscope. SOMETHING IS JUST NOT RIGHT.

LJF, check your credit report and see if your creditors have put a 0 balance in this account. If not, you can still deal with them and explain the problems faced with the collection agency. Understanding the situation, the creditor can make an arrangement for the debt to get paid.
If the debt has been sold to Corporate Receivables, unfortunately you will have to make payment to them only if they are holding your account legally. Have you verified it? Did the company send you the details of the debt in writing? Ask the company to put everything in writing including the update in your report. Based on the facts and figures, you will be making your payments.
Ben Collins at Corporate Receivable, Inc.
Hello!
My Husband and I started receving letters from Corporate Receivables, and very rude and annoying phone calls in December. My husband has an account through HSBC, the item we purchased with this got stolen almost right after we got it. We called and told them, we have paid a couple payments to HSBC, but when we called and told them, they said oh well don't worry about it. Which confused us, so we thought okay that is odd. Then we hadn't received anything from HSBC since September, untill December saying we owe, we where like okay that is fine, so we called them right away to maky payments. They said they sold are account to CR, the next day we started being harrased by CR and receiving letters. Ben Collins calls my husbaands work phone all the time, and here and lives very rude messages, when we call back, he is never available. We have been trying to get set up on a payment arrangement since December, and they keep telling us they cannot do that, we have to pay the full amount. So today I said I would call and talk to this Ben guy. I called three times today and spoke with him and tried to get set up on a payment arrangement. He said we can not do that, so instead he offers me a settlement of 5,500.00, and told me to borrow it or get a loan, and i have till tommorow evening to get it to him. I said no, I can pay a certain amount every month, but we do not have that money to do that. That was in our first two conversations. The third time I called I offered more monthly and he said no, we can't do that, I asked why and he said it is becuase we owe this amount, I said I know that but I can only do payments, he kept telling me I don't understand credit (which trust me I do), and that I can't pay on my terms I have to pay on there's. I said no this is our money, and agencies out suppose to work with you, let my talk to you manager or supervisor, he went balastic started yelling at me over and over, about how I don't understand , and i can't make payments, and he would not transfer me to someone else, because that would be a waste of there time and his. He said I owe the amount and I am just trying to not pay it, and they will put it down as a refusal to pay, I said no I am trying to set up payments, so I can pay it. He yelled at me for like 20 minutes, I swear he had mental issues or something, plus he tried to make me feel like a complete idiot and he is very degrading. I told him well I will have my lawyer draw up a letter for $40.00 and put in there what we are willing to do. He told me go right ahead we will just tack on more fees, and you will owe more, I said not I will not, he thinks he knows it all and judges people he doesn't even know us. I even call the original creditor, and they said they where sorry about that and couldn't do anything for me. Well I am calling them back tomorrow because they are going to work with us, since we hadn't even received anything since September untill December on it, so it is our debt, but that didn't communicate with us. And Ben Collins is a very rude and degrading man, who must think we have 5,000.00 in our back pocket. I am definitely reporting them to the BBB.

Cnjsteph,
Apply your consumer rights, send them DV letter through CMRRR. Also add one paragraph in the letter stating not to call you any more. Mention that you would like to be contacted through mails only. So they cease contacting you in any other way.
Once they receive your letter, they should send you the validation. Validation is very important; it helps to move you legally. If all the items in the validation are correct, then only you need to arrange for payments. You have the right of offering your own suggestions.
Have you told HSBC that you want to settle your account with them directly? Did they refuse your offer? Tell them that the collector is very rude and refusing payment plan, but you are ready to pay it through installments.
Moreover, they cannot harass you saying that you are trying to avoid your responsibility while you are doing your best to pay it. Please go through my first post at the top of this page, it has stated something on conversation recording. You can do it to prove that they declined your payment; you were willing to pay it. You can file your complaints with BBB, FTC and Ag's office of your state.
FYI, CR Inc is holding unsatisfactory record with BBB already

Hope you know what happened with Ellis Crosby. One business cannot be stopped over night. Once bunches of negative feedbacks are submitted through proper channel, then only one company becomes prone to a legal investigation.
That is the reason consumers are always advised to file their complaint with FTC, BBB or AG's office against the unfair activities of collectors or any others. Once a considerable number of complaints are there, Attorney General will definitely run an investigation.

Yes I am part of teh CR scam also, a loan thru HSBC that I missed 1 payment on due to a bank error, they tried to set up a payment arrangment, sent no paperwork, and then renigged on the agreement, so I withdrew from dealing with them, I called HSBC and told them, they did not care until I got a manager, he took my complaint and said to make payments direct to them, and that they would accept them.

fred,
It is only possible through negotiation. Are you done with debt validation process? If not send them DV through CMRRR. They should respond to your request within 30 days. Check all the items carefully. If all the details are correct, then propose a payment plan that is easy to bear.
Or you can seek help of debt consolidation program. The counselor, who will be working with you, will analyze your financial standard first and prepare a payment plan that is affordable by you. Then he will insist your creditor to accept this plan.
In this way you can avoid the harassment of dealing with collectors and creditors and ultimately a suitable payment plan will be sanctioned for you. Hence you will repay your debts with easy monthly payments.

CR and DOD trying to collect on me
I have had similar problems with CR and another agency. With CR, I tried to send them proof of payments but i got like everybody else "we don't have a fax machine". I have reported them already and i just finished reading all of the complaints. "Abraham" has only called me once and i feel everybodys anger. I am thinking about recording my next conversation with him but i do not know what type of recorder to use, i do not have an answering machine. (suggestions please)
On the other hand, i have DFAS cleaveland on my back because they "paid" money to the IRS (what i suppose) that i never recieved. Since this money never came into my possession, is it leagal for them to try to collect from me. I have already "got the debt validated" but what they sent me does not make any sense. i have also tried to tell them that they (DFAS) made the mistake and now they are putting it on me, can't they just get ahold of whoever they paid out to and get the money back from them?

Hi,
You can get some relevant info on call recording in this thread-
http://forums.debtcc.com/forums/call-recording.html
However, the DFAS issue is not very clear to me. Are you talking about DFAS, the collection agency? Could you please explain this topic more?
DFAS
DFAS is Defense Financing & Accounting services, they are the ones that keep books for the US Navy. They hired a collection agency to get the debt.
When I was first contacted by some law firm in Houston that handles collections (Linebager,Gogins, Sampson, and Blair i think), I got the validation, but it makes no sense. When I talked to them about it they told me that DFAS paid money to SS and other taxes. After that I told them that they should be bothering the people they gave the money to, but they say that I owe it to them.
More recently they changed the collection agency on me and now it is another place. Do i have to send for another debt validation. ?
They also told me that DFAS is the group that conducts the validation, through their own records, and I do not trust them because other people have had similar problems with pay.
I will be on for about 20 more minutes if more explaination is needed

Emmanuel, Yes, you have to send another DV to the new collect
Emmanuel,
Yes, you have to send another DV to the new collection agency. The purpose of DV is not to delay the collection process. According to fdcpa, consumers have the right to inquire the legality of the collection agency. You have the right to know if the collection agency is authorized to collect this account, if they are claiming the right amount from you and so on.
So they should send an itemized document of the debt showing the account history as well. if you find any inconsistency in it, you can dispute it.
So send them DV through certified mail with return receipt requested. Keep the copy of this letter and the return receipt as an evidence of your communication.

Isaac,
There are good and bad collectors in the same agency. Or it might be they are not so bad on secured loan collection.
Corporate Receivables
I knew the name was fake, I just had a funny feeling. (Nancy Grant) is my collector and she is rude, obnoxious, she basically has no home training at all. She has called my office , my main office and basically made me to be out an ****.

Mad as hell,
Third party debt collectors abide by fdcpa. They cannot be rude to consumers. They cannot call at your work if you have asked not to do so. Send cease comm. letter through CMRRR. Mention that you would only prefer communication through mails.
Take them through the proper debt collection procedure. Ask for debt validation. Send your request in writing. If they can validate your debt properly, then only you need to pay.
You can also contact your creditor to settle the account directly with them.
