You need to get the advice of a bankruptcy attorney in your state. Not the wannabe attorneys on here. Most of them are working with a high school education at best, but provide advice on things like bankruptcy.

Your house, car, etc. can be protected in a bankruptcy, but you should consult with a bankruptcy attorney to get the best advice.

Actually your house is not protected in most states if you have lived in that State for less than 3 years (2 years in some states).
Also, under the new bankruptcy laws, in many states your house is only protected up to a certain amount. For example, in Texas your home is only protected up to $125,000.
