Our company only collects money for a particular client, we do not keep the money - we pay our client first, for example SEARS, or SHOPNBC, and we get a cut (a %) of what you pay us, that's how a collection agency works, so if you say "well i'm not going to pay those a$$holes, you're really not paying SEAR'S debt buyer, which happends to be "resurgent" So basically sears sells your debt to a debt buyer (resurgent) and resurgent tells us to collect the money, so from the money you pay US, sears get a fraction, resurgent gets a fraction, and Central Portfolio Control gets a fraction, you are paying several people (or NOT if you refuse) and we DO post things on your credit report, go ahead and try to re-finance!! So anyways, collecting money is fun, debtors are idiots, it's all a big game... A game that WE usually win because we have CONTROL over your credit report - we can even garnish your wages!! So... happy debting! Keep charging up those credit cards!!

Go find a corner, prop down, put your thumb under your butt and sit on it.

what a stupid post, you cannot put someone in jail for not paying a stupid ass bill collector. You can only be jailed for Child support and taxes. No wonder this dude works for a collection agency, he is to stupid toget hired anywhere else.

All bill collectors or bottom feeders are chicken chits sitting behind a computer/phone making idol threats trying to scare someone. For your I, Wyatt probably needs a diet, the average person does not pay because they have encountered unforseen circumstances. Evidently you have an IQ of about 60 because your post has a lot of bullchit in them. To sum you up! Refinance your education because obviously the first time around didn't help you.

He said no, however, the CPC website says that I can, and that they "understand that a payment in full is not always possible." Exactly what IS CPC policy? Also, has anyone noticed that there is NO email address ANYWHERE on the CPC website? Not only can I not get the answers I'm looking for, I also can't talk to a lead supervisor or the company president. They are the most unprofessional company I have ever come in contact with. And why do I have debt? Because a good friend of mine needed a suit for a job interview and I helped him out. Not all debt-owers are "typical."

I actually work for CPC and I would like to address some of the things stated in this thread. We don't list an e-mail address because we have a phone number listed instead. You can communicate just as easily over the phone as you can through e-mail or written communication. As for your complaint that there is no way to reach a lead supervisor or the president of the company, you can speak to a supervisor but there is a 99% chance that they are going to tell you the exact same thing that the collector just told you, and that is, "pay your bill". We don't have time to hear your complaints that someone was rude to you over the phone. This is called a "stall" and it does nobody any good. Let's talk business, like how you plan to take care of your debt? We are generally willing to work with you but you have to be willing to work with us (i.e. not hanging up on us, answering the questions we ask and being honest in your answers, not screaming and yelling at us, etc). Also, if you're making a good wage and propose $20/month to work away at your $5000 balance, FORGET IT! You might have to sacrifice a little for a short time to make it possible for you to pay off what you owe. That's just the way it is. Sometimes collectors are a little harsh and demanding, but think of it this way... The way we see it, you had plenty of time before the account was charged off to make small monthly payments, work with a polite customer service staff, and receive monthly statements showing a breakdown of all the charged and what you owe. YOU BLEW THAT! Now you're in collections and you don't get those privileges anymore. Now it's time to grow up and handle your business. You know as well as we do that you owe the money, so stop stalling and let's work on getting it paid so you don't have to deal with it anymore. Wouldn't it be nice to have your debts paid off? If we were nice and polite all the time and never stressed the urgency of the matter, would you honestly pay it? Maybe some people would pay either way, but the majority of people need a little motivation. If they didn't, they would have paid it off already, or maybe it wouldn't be in collections at all!

For one, I am excited you chose one of the last companies that would ever consider hiring you, do to your low life tendancys and minimum wage expectations. Good Job! Whats completely halarious, is I to was a top dog collection specialist at one low life moment in my time- and it was interesting how the employees were strangly treated as well as not fully informed of all current Fair Debt Collection Practice Act Laws per state. The threats am pointless sarcastic avenues you all take in your approach the gain payment are ever so often a losing battle, where as you feel the need to defend your company with no real rights in doing so. So this now brings me to my announcement to our freaquently accused and problematic debtors- you have every right to refuse payment to any debt collection agency. Write a letter to dispute the cause an debt within 20 days of contact made from them to you via call or email- Make sure they read you the mini maranda rights and then contact the 3 head credit departments like experian, transunion, and exqufax- write these creditors about your concern that you did not give permission for the originated company whom sold your information to a third party debt collection company and contest it with the LAW backing you up- being HIPPA an so many more Laws that do not allow your business to be sold, sharred or exployted under any circumstance- an in time the debt may remain a debt with the original company you chose not to pay- but your credit report will remove the issue there for not effecting your score or even garnishment. Lifes good.. And last- to all the ego driven debt collectors- don't point the finger when 99% of you are debtors as well- so don't hate!

Adam Cohen (Alias) is leaving a message on my voicemail for my brother stating he is from The Hatcher Law Firm. I pick up the phone to let him know he has the wrong number, Adam??? starts asking a million questions in 3 seconds then states he'll back tomorrow and HUNG UP?!?!?! He never gave me a chance to answer any of the questions. Now I know he just came off break from getting coc'd up, (it's a collection agency for god sake, they have to take something to make it through the day and stomach the fact they work for a collection agency......coc, weed, percs, oxy, methadone, morphine etc.....pretty accurate huh?), but if you have the balls to call me then have the balls to stay on the phone!!!!!

What Adam doesn't realize is that I do record every call. So each time he decides to leave a non-compliant message on my voicemail, or break FDCPA laws (calling a 3rd party more than once after stating "wrong number" then CPC will start paying my bills for me.

Happy Collecting!!!!
