I sent them 570.00 and then all of a sudden they needed more money. I said no. I know I will never see my money again. What do you do to report people like this? They are outside of the US

Always remember, you don't have to send any upfront money to get the loan. No legitimate loan company will ask for upfront money. Scammers turn out to do such things and you should immediately report such activities to your state attorney general and the FTC. They are receiving complaints and get started with the legal process.

If you are asked to give money upfront for a personal loan, it is most definitely a scam. How much did they tell you the loan was for since you had to send them $570?

The loan was for 5000. They actually gave mt 3 options. I could put up property valued at 5000, such as land or a car with clear title, have a cosigner that made at least 50,000 a year or put up 570.00 for an insurance policy that would insure the loan if I losst my job or became disabled or died. Of course, they bank on you being in a tight spot and taking the insurance policy.
Bayfarm
The guys name doing this scam are Paul Carrington. He is the initial person to contact you, and he says he is from Northwestern Loans and has found a company to loan you the money, Bayfarm. Then once you send the money,to Tomeika Sutton, in Montega Bay, jamaica, then you deal with Brian O'sullivan. He calls you and tells you the money will be depostited into your account in 3 days. Then the day before it is to be deposited he calls you and says the insurance company said my last name rang a bell with the lady at the insurance company, and I have a very common last name, and they felt I was too much of a risk and they would need more money. I checked and they have not checked my credit. He wanted me to tell him something about my credit. I would not. I told him if they had checked my credit, he should be able to tell me something that was on there that was bad. He couldnt do it. He was pretty mad when I insisted that he tell me. I know I have lost that money. It really hurt me too right here at Christmas. I am a single mom and now have to figure out how to do Christmas. Of course, I also took money for a bill to send to them because I thought I would have the loan in my account in time to pay the bill, my mortgage. So, what do I do about this? I know I am not goin to see my money. I want to do something to prevent these people from hurting someone else.
BAYFARM FINANCIAL(NORTHWESTERN LOAN) SCAM
On 11-27-06, my husband received what seemed like the answer to our prayers. He received an email from a man named paul carrington who worked for a company called northwestern loans. He had been approved for a loan of $4000,00. We thought it was a real blessing for us because my husband is disabled from scoliosis and i had to stop working due to severe asthma, high bloodpressure, and recently diagnosed with diabetes. To us it seemed legitament so we dicided to go for it. We were given 3 way to secure the loan. (1) put up something of value. (2)get someone to co-sign for us. (3) send $475 refundable dollars to secure the loan. We chose option (3) and sent a western union to a woman named tameika sutton. On monday 12-11-2006, my husband called them to find out why or what the problem was. They told him that they were having to find another insurance company because the insurance company (world-wide ins.group)said that he was a high risk, but refused to tell him why or what for. We told them we could not afford anymore momey right now. Paul carrington told us to give them a couple of days and then check back. Today (12-19-06) my husband called mr. Carrington back to see if we could just get our money($475) back. It seems like the phone has been disconnected or somthing. All you get is a b-e-e-e-p sound then it hangs up. We feel like complete fools because i know now we were scammed.we also found out this morning that our car is going to be repossed, we can't pay our utitlies, so they are going to be disconnected, and most of all we can't buy our 7yr old daughter christmas this year. If anyone has any suggestions on how i can explain to her why mommy & daddy did such a dumb thing, and santa only left her one toy this year, please let me know what to tell her. Every time i look at her i can't do anything but cry myself into an asthma attack. I hope and pray that these people a caught and made to pay everyone back that they have scammed.
