What does HSBC RS stand for on a credit report?

HSBC issues cards for these companies Best Buy, Bon-Ton, CompUSA, Costco, Helzberg Diamonds, Neiman Marcus, Saks, Sony, Yamaha and so on.

I think guests get us confused with a site with a similar name that charges for some service.

I had often wondered what hsbc rs stood for on a credit report.

HSBC is very difficult to deal with. We have a loan on a suzuki 4 wheeler and they will not deal with us at all. Then they turned us over to corporate receivables collections and they were even worse. We told them repeatedly that we were with a debt settlement place and gave them the contact number, but they continued to bully and harass us. They were even harassing my supervisor. That was embarassing. I am not disputing my debt, just trying to get it settled the best way possible. And harassing me and calling my supervisor is not going to make me pay up "in full" any faster. I had 50% of what i owed, tried to settle the account for that, but they were not willing to negotiate. We even explained that we were with a debt settlement place, we had 2 accounts already in legal action, and we had xxx amount of money to settle this right not. If they did not accept that then they too were going to be turned over to our debt settlement place. Still did not work. So we turned them over and deposited that money in our account and are already starting negotiaions on A DIFFERENT account. See, they could have been done with us. We even tried to give the 4 wheeler back to wipe out the account -- no go. HSBC RS still on.

I had a credit card ( $300.00 limit) through HSBC. THAT was a mistake!!!!! Fees, monthly payments were going up, etc. If I din't understand a charge that was on my bill, I would call the Customer Service to remove HSBC RS. They were difficult to deal with. By the time I ACTUALLY got a chance to speak to someone, instead of a recording, HSBC "cancelled the card and the entire amount was due. God..........they just won't listen. I recently tried to call again. According to CS, I "no longer have an account with them." How am I suppose to take care of this if they CLAIM I have no record of this?

I have an "open" credit card account with you on my credit report. I haven't used that account in years; I no longer even possess the credit card. Please "close" my account. I want HSBC RS removed from my CR. Thank you.

Thomas you need to contact HSBC to remove HSBC RS from your credit report.

They have also taken over Sears and K-mart. The interest is sky high. I have called the Govenor of Ohio, my State Rep. and other elected officials to have HSBC investigated and delete HSBC RS from CR. They are like dealing with loan sharks.

I do not have an HSBC RS account, yet on my recent bank statement is an automatic withdrawal for an online payment in March, 2009. HSBC directed me back to the bank for an explanation. Is this a run-around? Anyone with a similar experience? Confused in Wisconsin

I already asked them to close both accounts (Jordan's Furniture and Best Buy). The balances are zero. Ran my credit report over a year later and they are still showing as open & current. Unbelievable...I think I even have confirmation letters I can dig up indicating they closed the account, they just didn't report it to the credit bureau.

just in this thread, 3 posts trying to hammer HSBC to no avail! I'm sending a request to close accounts today. Then hang on to the confirmation letter for the credit bureaus since HSBC won't report...

With some research, I discovered that this account was a Rooms to Go account from 12 years ago. The RS is for retail services and can be any of 40 retailers. The number I called is 1-800-537-9698. Hope this helps!!

I have an account with hsbc and they turned me over to corporater recievables and they are harrasing me and my cosigner on the account. I talked to hsbc and they told me i could still make payments to them, but when the guy from corporate recievables called again i told him that i didnt have to talk to them anymore i was going to deal with hsbc he laughed on the phone at me and said i have alot to learn and that i couldnt do that. He wont let me talk he yells i cant get to words in> what do i do?? Any reply would help

Mad, you need to check your credit report. Check as to who now holds the account. If it is still with corporater receivables, request HSBC to pull back the account from them. If HSBC agrees to pull back the account, get the agreement in writing. Then only make payments to HSBC. Else, after you make payments to HSBC, they may refuse to acknowledge your payments. However, before making the payments check your credit report for the account updation. Only after the account get transferred to the original creditor, can you make the payments.

Perhaps, and bare with me here this is just an idea, you should not be leading a lifestyle that forces you to "negotiate" your way out of debt. You are sitting here bashing a company that lent you money and you are sitting here complaining about the fact that they did not want to accept half the money you owed as a settlement to the debt?! Seriously? You were completely to err and the irresponsible jerk that makes prices go up for the rest of us. YOU are the reason credit card rates are so high, YOU are the reason mortgage rates are so high! People like you are no better than the greedy corporate scum you deal with and I think you deserve each other!

Even closed, they will continue to report for 10 years.
