Is bass and associates a legit collector

They are a scam collection agency with several fdcpa violations. They are currently being investigated by the Florida Attorney Generals office. They are well known for issuing threats of arrest, being processed, someone coming to the persons place of employment. They demand payment immediately for way more than is owed. Do not send them anything!!

Search this website and you will find many threads talking of Bass & Assoc. Many have had horrible experiences with the company.

By US & Canadian law, a debt collector MUST verify via postal mail a debt they are trying to collect. This verification must state the creditor's name and the amount due. Without this, they have no rights to sue you.

I was going to wire the money today. But now I am skeptical,should I call them back and request something in writing?

Know your rights on how to deal with the collectors engaged in shady practices. Sue them and get compensated for the damages.

Please don't wire the money until you see something in writing. Chances are they are trying to get you to pay way more than you actually owe.

It sounds like Bass & Assoc. needs a good suing. Find an attorney at naca.net and go to work. You (and all who Bass is improperly collecting from) deserve compensation for what they are putting you through.
