Payday loans - stop payment and work arrangements but..

I have a payday loan and I decided the only way out of the cycle was to stop payment and work arrangements with the company, only problem being the company does not want an arrangement. What will happen if they take me to court will I go to jail?

You very rarly can go to jail for not paying a debt. Is this an internet PDL? Or storefront? Who is the company and what state do you live in?

Another thing to consider is just closing your bank account and opening a new one. Most IPDL's operate under a few names and if you block one they will just hit your account under another name.

You can never go to jail for not paying the debts. This is a civil case and if it goes to the court, you will pay through court orders. There are no prisons for debtors. Criminal actions result jail sentences.

What company you are dealing with and what state are you in? You need to know the laws and that the lenders are charging fair on your account.

You will not go to jail. They will thraten you with everything from showing up at your house or showing up at your job. They will call references you name it these people do it. Dont be scared get yourself informed. Look up your state laws figure out if you have overpaid then get a plan of action!!!! Dont let them intimidate you because they will try. Keep posting and let us know your progress. Best Wishes KYSIDE38
