Anyone know who this number belongs too. Got a call from a Brian Adams today threatening arrest etc etc. He left a nice long message on my voicemail which I have kept, but did not identify where he was calling from. I know I took a loan out with Route 66 ($200) and SJM ($300). Are they collecting for one of these? Please let me know if you knwo the answer to this. Thanks

That name and number come up in the below forum as well, check it out.

He is probably trying to collect for SJM, but it could be either one. I would definatly save the message and if and when he calls back tell him you want the debt validated and you will not be sending any money until you receive that. If he continues to harrass and threaten you, which is in violation of the FDCA...let him know you will be reporting him.

I figured it was for SJM but like you say you never know. To be honest having read a lot from this forum I am not prepared to pay them (even though I know I borrowed it). I borrowed $300 and have already paid $360 back in their so called processing fees - so to me debt been paid. Payday loans are actually illegal in the state I live (MA).

Lam, be confirmed about your state laws when you are using them. Payday lenders can put people in troubles anytime and for any reasons. If you are sure that your state doesn't allow payday lending, then you are liable to pay back the principal amount only, nothing more than that. Do you have proof of the money paid towards the account? You need to be confirmed that the money sent actually got posted towards your debt account. Collectors need to give all info about the debt before you decide anything on them.

No you cannot go to jail they say to frighten you into paying them. The call I got was from someone you could hardly hear until he started shouting - to be honest I found the call amusing. I forwarded message to my attorney and she called him for me and he tried to pass himself of as his superviser. She was on the phone with him for 30 mins and got no other info besides Platinum B and $640.

I received a phone call from a person by the name of Alex Rodrick regarding my bank account stating that I took out a payday loan from Bahamas Marketing Group (BMG) stating that I owe them $415.00 and I needed to take care of the matter with him today or I would be arrested at my job or at my residence if I didn't take care of this matter today. Is this true?

Ana, No this is not true. They cannot do that. They are just trying to scare you into paying them. And the people that called you are probably United Pay Services/United Processing, which ever name they are calling themselves. I dealt with them at the beginnig of this year. You need to file a complaint with your states AG and DFI. You also need to contact FL and file complaints against them there. They are out of jacksonville, FL. I don't have their addy right now, but you can look it up here. They have not called me back since my states DFI sent a letter and I chewed them a new one for calling me too early. So tell them to send you validation of the debt and to no longer call you. They will call your work 10 million times a day threating the same thing. So let your employer know that if someone that speaks broken english asks for you, tell them you were fired because of their calls lol.
