I have very bad credit and would like to see if bankruptcy is a good option for me but need advice first.... How much does it cost? Do they also do payday loans (store front) and internet, and also how do they work out on your vehicles, will this affect in the long run if you want to get another vehicle?

I live in Texas, we filed BK chapter 7 in 2002, before the laws changed. I can't speak for everyone, but it was the best thing we could have ever done. As far as your vehicles go, if you still owe on it, we were able to reaffirm our vehicles, and just kept paying on them as we always had. I don't know much about the payday loans, but I would think that you would be able to include those in a bankruptcy. good luck I hope everything works out for you.

How much -- depends on if using attorney, etc. I live in VA - I am paying $1300 total using an attorney - but I've seen others posted paying up to $2300 - so it varies, but most attorneys will work a payment plan out with you as well.

PDL's can be included and as far as the cars or other personal property, each state has exemptions. In Texas I belive you can choose between the federal or state... for the state, personal property is listed as:

Personal Property
Athletic and sporting equipment, including bicycles; 2 firearms; home furnishings, including family heirlooms; food; clothing; jewelry (not to exceed 25% of total exemption); 1 two-, three- or four wheeled motor vehicle per member of family or single adult who holds a driver???s license (or who operates vehicle for someone else who does not have a license); 2 horses, mules or donkeys and a saddle, blanket and bridle for each; 12 head of cattle; 60 head of other types of livestock; 120 fowl; and pets to $30,000 total ($60,000 for head of family)

Burial plots

Health aids

As the previous post stated as well if you still owe on it you can reaffirm to keep them and continue to pay like always.
