I have been divorced now for over 7 years and have been paying a debt that my ex left me. In my divorce decree, he is supposed to help me pay off a second mortgage. He has given me $150.00. It began as $15,000 I have paid it down to $9,000. What can I do to get him to pay?

I live in NC and have a credit card account with citibank that has been in and out of delinquency, and was placed in collections. I told the first collection agency that I would only deal with citibank, and have not heard back from them.

I owe: 13000 ... with min payments 300 4000 ... with min payments 80 ___________________________ 17000 of debt I need to get out of debt ... my credit score is alittle above 700 ... Will this hinder my credit rating? almost will this hurt my chance in buying a place? John

How can I stop harrassing calls from CA's if I am making some payments monthly towards my bad debt? The collection agency is taking my payments, but threating to take me to court if I do not send in a larger payment or if a 2nd payment is not made within the same month. I have also been told that it is not a good idea to pay collection agencies, that it is better to pay the original creditor. If this is true, how does the debt get back to the original creditor from the CA?
