Does anyone have an address for Route 66 funding?
thanks a million
Amanda

Thanks. I am in Illinois, and figured there was something fishy about this company once my original 60 dollar service fee started declining by five dollars each payday. I actually took 2 loans out with them, one i paid in full the week after i had it lent and there were no problems. this one has been the big problem, and i remember after i paid the first loan i received up to 8 calls consecutively within 10 minutes.. asking if i wanted a new loan. i also get text messages, STILL.

Yep, trying to charge $1900 for a $200 loan. They called my job for an hour today nonstop; I kept hanging up, I threatened to forward the call to our police dept, they demanded to talk to my supervisor. I asked them to show me in writing how the balance could be that high; mind you, I've paid the $200 back. They can't show you proof. They threatened to repeatedly call my references until I agreed. I was at work and the calls would not stop. I thought about closing the account but since I see all this about bank & wire fraud..I don't know. They threw it in my face that they are calling from the UK and were not subject to any US laws.. I told them to take me to court..they change the subject when you say that..

Close your account and open a new one. They can not charge you with anything. They are lying. Next time tell them that since they do not follow US law that means they are going to have to try and extradite you to the UK for such ignorant lies. They are so stupid. Don't believe any of their threats. You need to file a complaint with your Attorney General's office.

If you have paid more in the roll over fees which totals more than the principal and legal interest allowed by your state, then you are done with them. File a complaint with your state's Attorney General's office against this company. Also, they are going to make alot of threats which are all lies, please know you will not be charged with any crime or arrested. But if you have been paying nothing but roll over fees you probably have already paid the interest and principal back. Get your complaint in.

im on my way, thanks for the advice. i closed my bank account thursday night, the night before payday. i talked to the fraud dept. and told them to be aware for any other customer being debited by route 66. after all of that, i just checked my email this morning and saw a "payment reminder" from route 66. nice that they remind my closed account to have their money :) I'm hoping they never find the glitch... they've only talked to me once since the loan was taken out and i made it clear i was not paying back the 800 dollars.

Is a scam. Even if you refuse their loan, the people from India continue calling you saying you applied for a loan. I tell them to take me off of their list because I dont want a loan and they call me again.
I took another bloggers advise and called 877 564 7738, pressed 2 and actually spoke to an American. She said she took my phone numbers out of theirs system so the calls will stop. I will have to see. I told her I was closing out my bank account and informed my bank of their company. DO NOT APPLY FOR A LOAN WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

I am currently being harrassed by Route 66 Funding. They call my job at least 3 to 4 times a week. My employer has asked them not to call and they still do.
Anyone who is having a problem should try My Fair Debt.com I would like to see this company pay all of us back for the way they have done us.

I reached what Route 66 calls a "settlement" over the phone. After they started harassing my old work and references, I called and spoke to a man who said I now only owe the amount I took out for my loan (not the 800-something they told me a while back). I said I am not setting up my new bank account for this debit and will gladly mail that payment. He refused to give me a mailing address, then said he could check with a manager about Moneygram. I called back and he told me Moneygram is only for people who are extremely delinquent with their loan. So I called back and said I could pay it back in two weeks. I am going to put the money in a bank account separate from my main one, have it taken out and then close it. He also told me I could pay in halves but then changed his mind when I called back. Anyone paid back by settlement and been okay or is this more problems?

Hey do not open a new account to pay these people.
by US laws they must accept any form of payment for any debt. but I suggest no cash payments.
Make a contract agreement in writting as to the payment amounts for them. But before you do this I suggest a certified letter to them if you have not done so do a request for how much the origional loan was for, Any payments made, percentage rate charged on the loan, total amount due ,total roll over fees ect.
Don't over pay these people they will never refund any over amounts.

How do I get htis to stop? Has anyone been able to stop these people. These people have cost me lots of money, they should be paying me at this point. They keep telling me they are going to send me to there legal dept, and I tell them go ahead, and they never do. I live in California and we have stric laws against collections. I would not even know where to begin. Can anyone give ma a suggestion? Anything would help me at this point.

I would not pay route 66 a dime if you payed what is the legal limit in your state. They are an illegal operation that was just fined $50,000 for their tactics. They can not make you pay them. They are criminals. Just report them to your attorney general and the FTC. Hang up if they call. Do not reply to them at all. They will eventually leave you alone and haunt some other poor ensnared victim.

This is my favorite thread. It is how I got here. Good work cajunbulldog. Maybe we could go after CTC also. They are apparently in Malta. Route 66 stopped harassing me after a while but I still get this email after every payday which I copied and pasted below.
Unfortunately your recent payment of $35 made on the 03/30/2007 has been returned by your bank (reason: )

It is of course possible that there has been some administrative error and if this is the case, we would urge you to contact us and your bank to clarify the situation. The bank account from which we attempted to debit the funds was the same account into which we placed the loan initially.

If there has been some administrative error or you wish to discuss this situation, then please call us on

This must be some kind of auto reply. You can respond to it but know one will reply. It is funny how they change the amount they try to take each time, usually less money. This account has been on hold for almost three months which is around the last time I heard from them except for a feeble attempt about three or four weeks ago. They are pathetic.

I have these two links to add for international companies:
interpol.com/Public/FinancialCrime/Default.asp
met.police.uk/
Place the proper protocal in front to activate the links. The first one is for The Financial Crime Division of Interprol. The second link is the home page for Law enforcement in England for those companies we are dealing with that operate there.

Ha - Chris Wilson emails me from GFS, too, Leah!

It is an auto message, however, if you email it, you won't get a response, you'll get a phone call.

I used to email them 40x per day. Got nothing but phone calls. I stopped, they stopped. So now they just email me, and on days that I wouldn't have been scheduled for a payment either (off payday days).

These guys and DMS are by far the worst.

I have the address in Malta for CTC / Northway / Payday ave. if any one needs it. I wrote it down and will have to look for it. I had to settle with them because they kept calling my father in law and getting him upset. Slime.

I borrowed 200 dollars from route 66 funding, to date they have taken $2054 out of my bank account. I called them and told them that I would not pay them one more red cent, I was told I would be arrested for fraud, Bring it on!! Something needs to be done about this company!

I filed a complaint with the BBB, I called my bank and they put a block on the amounts that they have been withdrawing, they were really good about it, she told me that due to the curcumstances they were waiving the stop payment fees. I have also opened a new account so if they do get a withdrawal through, I can close the other one.

nmbr8fan - careful with only blocking the amounts they are currently withdrawing. This company is completely immoral and uncaring. They will simply attempt to debit your account for another (usually larger) amount, or break the amount into TWO debits, so blocking a specific amount won't work with these guys.

Your best bet is to close your bank account and open another, as you mentioned.

I have just gotten off the phone with them, I like messing with them, I sid that I was just calling to inform them that I had closed my account and that if they wanted more money they could take me to court and prove that I owed it, I said they had taken over 2000 dollars for a 200 dollar loan and they wouldn't get another cent from me. He said Thank you for calling to let us know, god bless you and have a happy mothers day. LOLOL

They certainly are a funny group are they not? When GFSIL was harrassing me constantly...they would call and in one voicemali threaten me with fraud and to embarrass me at my work and then call and leave a new voicemail about how they are really just calling to help me out and they hope god blesses me....

They do more than just share collectors. GFSIL, CashToday, Route 66, Interim and BIG are all the same company. They operate out of London, England. Most of the collectors are immigrants from India. At least they have them separated into the five different "brands" so they don't get all confused about who they're collecting for, unlike collectors for some of the other pdl's I've dealt with.

Don't feel bad. I have done that tonight in 2 different forums. Well it certainly makes sense that they are all the same company since they all use the same tactics. Why do they need to use so many different names? I paid Interim a LOT of money last year before I knew any better. I know I paid them at least $1500 on a $200 loan.
