I found an unauthorized charge on my new Capital One 1.5 cash back card from Firstsource Advantage LLC marked 'merchandise'. I have one paid off car loan and paid in full closed credit card from Capital One and opened a new card recently.

I have never gotten a letter or phone call from this company but today found a 395.23 charge that I did not authorize on my new card. I called this company and finally got through to leave a message but received no call back

I contacted Capital One and filed a dispute. They reversed the charge and started an investigation.

Can anyone tell me how this happens? How did they get my card number? it is a new card and I used it and paid the balance as soon as it posted so knew something was wrong when I reviewed the statement.
