I just read the website and it says that Plain Green, LLC is owned by “…the Chippewa Cree Tribe of the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation, Montana, a sovereign nation located within the United States of America, and is operating within the Tribe’s Reservation.”
What does this mean to borrowers whose loan originated with the First Bank of Delaware (Think Cash), an FDIC insured institution? I could be totally wrong on this one but it sounds as if FBD sold the accounts to the Chippewa Cree Tribe. If this is true, would the contracts be voided, or would the same debt purchasing laws apply? How would a "sovereign nation" enforce a contract for a loan that they purchased from a federally regulated financial institution?

I believe the original contracts are still valid for the term of the loan. It sounds like any new business will be through this tribe (and be illegal) but, the old ones are just being services by the tribe until completed.

OhioGal is correct. If you received the loan under FBD then you are still bound by Federal regulations. However, it appears they've gone the illegal route (sad) and gotten involved with the Tribes. They were fair and I liked doing business with TC when they were FBD. I'm glad I'm done with them and all of my PDL nightmares!!!

So, what recourse does Plain Green have to collect on a loan it purchased from Think Cash if I live in Washington state? I have paid almost $2000 in interest in a $1500 loan and still have a $1200 balance. Can they legally collect the balance since they are no longer affiliated with FBD? I closed my bank account and so the automatic debits are no longer being honored. I'd like to set up some sort of settlement plan with them (I know others have done this with Think Cash) but I'm worried about dealing with this new company. Any advice out there?
Plain Green doesn't own your loan, they are simply servicing you
Plain Green doesn't own your loan, they are simply servicing your loan. Their recourse, if you don't pay according to the terms, would be to send to a CA and/or sue you, depending on the balance owed. If you'd like to settle the account, you'll have to call and make a settlement offer.
I had a loan with TC and paid it off ..Theri privacy policy says
I had a loan with TC and paid it off ..Theri privacy policy says they share info about your account transactions does this mean they give your banking info to other PDL companies even though your no longer a customer?? i am asking because i have some PDL that I have stopped paying due to being illegal and paid way more than O should have .. it has been several months and some have been written off and the others I have not heard from I don't need this new company giving my info away
Look up what an affiliate is - it is not another payday loan com
Look up what an affiliate is - it is not another payday loan company - they can't share this type of information and I don't think a company that was operating legally would ever jeperdize their rep.
Think Cash through the bank of Delaware is not going to do anyth
Think Cash through the bank of Delaware is not going to do anything that is illegal. Your existing loan amount is high so you need to make payment arrangements, if you don't its a very good possibility that they will take you to court for a judgement. I know it stinks that Bank of Delaware sold the accounts to an Indian Nation but it's something you have to deal with.
