I am about to file bankruptcy in next couple of weeks. I have just recently starting getting calls from debtors about 3 weeks ago. I have been avoiding calls and letting them ring. Oh and let me tell you I just defaulted with NSF in my account for 2 payday loans. I know they will be coming after me soon along with others. I have a mix of payday and regular credit cards. I want to know if since I am going to be filing in next couple of weeks, should I just avoid the callers? It seems giving them any information about me filing for bankruptcy they might try to do something fast on their end to make my life miserable. I don't want any of the low life payday loan collectors calling me at work which I am afraid they will do if I avoid their calls. How can I put off the pack of wolves for a couple of weeks?

If you tell them you are filing bankruptcy, they will ask for your attorney's phone number and case number, etc. You can inform them that you haven't filed yet, but are in the process of doing so in the coming weeks.

Giving them your attorney's phone number won't do much good, since you haven't filed yet, and you obviously don't have a case number to give them yet.
