I am filing for chapter 7 pro bono for credit card debts. The bulk of these debts were incurred trying to help my son by paying some of his business expenses. I have never been an officer of his companies, and have never owned any part of them.

Would these debts be considered personal (as they are for family) or business?

Thanks!!

Thanks for your quick reply. I was an employee of his company for a while. Could this make a difference?

I was issued a 'business' credit card from Chase. I work on commission selling insurance. I don't have any sort of business entity, not even a sole prop. I do have a state issued insurance license though.

The credit card says 'business' on it, but it is in my name and my tax id. Can they somehow attach it to my insurance license? Or is this debt really just personal?
