why do you use the income before tax for the means test i went to one site thats had a quick means test , the results were that i would have 1200.00 disposable income LOL !
The other site ask for more detailed info and deducted for taxes paid , car mantaince , and gave a standard detuction for utilities. at the end it said my disp. income was 150.00 does this sound right

You use your pre-tax income because the means test deducts that amount in the calculations... there are standard deductions for vehicle ownership, utilites, clothing, food etc... if everything was entered accuratly and all deductions taken and your disposable income was $150.00 you would multiply that by 60 (9,000) --- if less than 6,575 you would qualify for chapter 7 --- since yours would be between 6,575 and 10,950 there would be additional items to complete to see if you would qualify for 7...

All said, it is rather complicated and I would strongly suggest that you consult an attorney to determine if you qualify.
