I am so grateful for all of the wonderful information available on this site. I had been in Payday Loan hell until I found the site. I found the site just as I was about to sign a contract with Relief LLC to help me get from under my payday loans. I am so glad that I did some research into where internet payday loans were legal in Virginia. So I have payday loans from the following companies:

Cash Direct Express borrowed $$1400 (2 loans); paid $$1826 (PIF letter received)
FastEfunds borrowed $400; paid $1150 (PIF letter received)
Plain Green Loans borrowed $4400; paid $4739.11
Mobi Loans borrowed $900; paid $555
Cash Jar borrowed $500; paid $812.50 (PIF letter received)

I sent my first letter revoking ACH authorization and Wage assignment on January 17, 2013 and I have had the following results:

- So far, I have received PIF letters from CDE, Cash Jar, and FastEfunds
- Mobi has accepted my payment plan to pay the remaining balance of three payments of $115
- I have filed complaints with the FTC and BBB in the appropriate states. I’ve actually gotten responses for the BBB and have responded accordingly.
- I am now going to go after a refund from CDE, Cash Jar, and FastEfunds

CDE, Cash Jar, FastEfunds, and Mobi all responded rather quickly but then there is PLAIN GREEN LOANS! Plain Greens is being the most difficulty. They have acknowledge stopping my ACH withdrawals but they offered me a settlement. After sending several emails, I received the response listed below. Between my two loans from them they have been sufficiently paid and by my calculations owe me a refund of $339.11. How should I respond?

Please be advised that this communication is for the purpose of collecting a debt. Any information obtained may be used to collect the debt. We may report information about your account to credit bureaus. Late payments, missed payments, or other defaults on your account may be reflected in your credit report.

Dear,
Your correspondence has been directed to me for review and I thank you for the opportunity to assist you at this time.

We understand that all situations are different and would like to offer you the opportunity to pay the remaining principal on your current loan in the amount of $276.95. We are willing to settle your account for this amount, payable in two (2) monthly installment(s) in the amount of $138.47 each, payable beginning March 1, 2013 and monthly thereafter. Payments made on prior loans were made according to the contracted rate and will not be applied to your current loan.

To further clarity your questions regarding the legality of this loan, Plain Green is organized under the laws of the Chippewa-Cree Tribe of the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation of Montana (“Chippewa-Cree”). Plain Green is owned by the Chippewa-Cree, and operates exclusively on land owned by the Chippewa-Cree. As such, Plain Green stands as an “Arm of the Tribe,” in the view of the United States state and federal courts. Therefore, loans made by an arm of a sovereign Indian nation are not subject to state law. This is NOT a payday loan.

This letter is written to help you understand that Plain Green and its loan contracts are governed exclusively by the laws of the Chippewa-Cree.

Pursuant to your request, we have removed your contact numbers from our system and we will make no further ACH debits from your account.

Please reply if you would like to accept this settlement and set up payment arrangements.

If you signed with them for payday loans, reject the contract as you can do this yourself. First, tell us what state you are in, the names of your lenders, how much was originally borrowed, and how much you have paid so far. It very well may be that your lenders are illegal. Answer these questions, and we can help you further.

I was a PG victim myself. They refused to respond to me through email. So I filed with the BBB and it was taken care of immediately.

I had a PG loan as well. Once I sent a complaint with the NC AG, they (PG)responded to me with a PIF letter the next day. Also debating on pushing hard for refunds on all mine as I was way overpaid on principles, or just say it was a expensive lesson

answer the questions bingonut asked as this is just another scamming leech.these places scam money and even if they do work settlements they are based on what the pdl's say you owe,not what you truly owe.this is based on experience 5yrs ago before i found this site so i have nothing good to say about anyplace that touts pdl debt relief.

Plain Green Loans are NOT exempt from state laws. Many payday lenders claim the whole "sovereign nation" excuse. It's a bunch of b.s. They think borrowers don't know this, and generally that's true - they don't know. I'm going to go look for an article I found awhile back about this topic. I'll be back!
